God is GOOD to Me!!

Louis Dean and I were still in recovery mode today. Neither one of us slept well last night for whatever reason. It was 1:30 before I finally went to sleep and even then my sleep was fitful. Deep sleep didn't come until after 6:00 am - which accounts for me sleeping in til after 10:00! We had coffee and reading and then watched Ed Young, Sr's TV program 'Winning Walk.'
It's been a slow day complete with naps and popcorn and a movie. Red 2 is one of my favorites!
Louis Dean and I both puttered around some but we didn't do any big projects.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean but the rest of the house didn't look very nice. At all.
When the water heater busted last month we moved a lot of the stuff in the utility room to the den.
Then Thursday the grand kids helped us move the rest of the stuff on the shelves and the walls to the den.
Suffice it to say - the den is a MESS!!

To make myself feel better I worked on the dining room late this afternoon.
I took out all the red, white and blue decorations and did a wine themed table setting.

I used some vintage place mats and matching napkins.

Love these wine scented mini candles.

I  used clear glass plates so I can see the pretty chargers through them.

I do so love a clean room!!!

Tonight Louis Dean and I watered our neighbor's yard before pouring our evening glass of wine and watering ours. Young neighbors next door and across the street went past us as they walked their dogs.
The moon came up over the trees and was nearly as beautiful as it was last night!
I told Louis Dean, "Here we are. Two old people sitting out late watering their yard."
There was a time about 10 years ago when I was in a store and saw an elderly couple buying groceries together. I broke down in sobs and literally RAN out of the store! I remember well how I felt.
I thought how sad it was that I had no one to grow old with. No one who cared. When I did my walks and saw my single shadow there was no one beside me. I expected to be alone the rest of my life and was making peace with that. Peace alone was so much better than the life I had before. Then God sent Louis Dean to me and HE says God sent ME to him!! Perhaps that's why we don't take each other for granted and savour this precious time in our lives. God has been so good to me! I thank God every morning and every evening for this beautiful life he has given me!

So do I, we are both so blessed. And I get the feeling that Louis Dean is very easy going, patient, and has a good sense of humor? Your dining room is gorgeous and romantic, like out of a magazine! One room at a time.

Oh, I know how you feel. It has been weeks now that my kitchen is in my dining room. We are waiting on the floor to be finished. Hopefully this week. I will be so happy when my dining room looks as beautiful as yours is. And how beautiful it is! I love those little wine candles.

I know just how you must have felt being alone at that point in your life. I was 50, never married (and wanted to be) and had just made peace with the fact that I probably never would be when God brought Joe into my life. You and LD are truly blessed that you found each other. Our message in church this week was how God has everything under control for us to live out HIS plan. That was certainly true with you!

Smiling with eyes brimming. I never expected a second chance either and, though life is not all roses, it still is pretty sweet.

What you do with your home is inspiring. It looks magazine worthy.

Everyday is a blessing! I thank God for your blog too! Yours was the first one I found when I started my journey in blog land. I wasn't even sure what a blog was. You and L.D. Have a wonderful life and I thank you for sharing it with us!

your dining room is beautiful, i like this theme a lot... elegant and romantic.. i am so glad you and LD found each other. I feel exactly the same about Bob.. I was 40 and running from an abusive husband, hiding and hurting and working 3 jobs to eat. at one of my jobs, there was Bob and now 29 years later we are still enjoying life and the last 29 years have topped all 40 years before i met him... and now i enjoy life with him and try not to think about he is 8 years older..

I love your table setting. Those little wine candles are absolutely adorable. You need to come to Kentucky and visit so you can give my home a makeover!

I had to smile from ear to ear reading about you and LD. You two seem just absolutely perfect for one another. It's amazing how God has such a well defined plan for our lives!

I'm glad you and LD found each other. You two compliment each other very well.
RED 2 is sitting on the coffee table waiting to be viewed unless Pamela takes it home when she heads back to Bryan. I want to see it but we ended up watching another movie and I've forgotten the name but it was good.
I love how you set your table. I can't figure out how to set mine since I don't want to cover up the star in-lay. Oh the decisions. LOL
