Keep on KEEPING on......

My friend, Dee, left that 'comment' on my Facebook status this evening.
I just stared at it for a moment because that is the VERY THING I have been saying to myself all day! Just do the next right thing. Do the next thing on your list. Keep on keeping ON!
This works! It doesn't mean I am not exhausted - because I am! However, I DID do the things I NEEDED to do and then a few of the things I WANTED to do.
It's always important to take a little time to remember who we are and do something just for US!

My mother was released from the hospital this morning!

I think she was pretty excited!!

She was pretty tired this afternoon, Deanie said.
You don't get much rest in a hospital!!
Everyone knows THAT!!!

This morning after coffee and Bible reading Louis Dean went back to bed.
I decided to strip my den of all her fall garments and this left her totally NAKED!

I hope to begin dressing her for Christmas very, very soon!

Just so you know - next spring we are replacing the den windows AND window treatment!
I am looking forward to that!
I packed up seven tubs and a three bags of 'Fall' and stored them up in the attic.

This afternoon I took Louis Dean in for a follow up appointment after his visit to the Emergency Room on Monday. He is improving and feeling better each day. The x-ray and CT scan revealed a small nodule on his lung that is in a different area than the mass caused by the pneumonia.
It is most probably nothing serious and the doctor called it an 'incidental discovery.'
Still, they want to follow up with another CT scan in December just to be sure.
Since we were dressed and out we decided to do a few of the errands that had been piling up on us.
One of those was to get his cough Rx filled. We tried Sam's who had the prescription since Monday and had not had the shipment of whatever it is arrive as yet - so we asked for the script back and took it to CVS. Same thing. In the morning Louis Dean will take it to the pharmacy at the hospital which is what we should have done on Monday!

We decided to stop at Chili's for dinner instead of going home and having to cook - or just eat crackers and milk - which is most likely what we would have done!

Good food and good margarita!
We didn't realize just how tense and wound up we had been until we started to relax a little.

Modern technology!
Pay your check right at the table!
Love that!

After we had been home a little while we had a visitor!!

Our sweet 'daughter in love' brought over a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Sherry sensed that we needed a little cheering up! Along with the flowers was a complete lasagna dinner for tomorrow night! I won't have to cook!
Sherry reminds me of the song Louis Dean had been working on before he got sick.
We listened to it last night after I got home from the hospital.

"Angels Among Us"
I was walking home from school, on a cold winter day
Took a shortcut through the woods, and I lost my way
It was getting late, and I was scared and alone
But then a kind old man, took my hand, and led me home
Mama couldn't see him, oh but he was standing there
And I knew in my heart, he was the answer to my prayers

Oh I believe there are, angels among us
Sent down to us, from somewhere up above
They come to you and me, in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love

When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees
There's always been someone, to come along, and comfort me
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand
A phone call from a friend, just to say, I understand
But ain't it kind of funny, at the dark end of the road
That someone lights the way, with just a single ray of hope

Oh I believe there are, angels among us
Sent down to us, from somewhere up above
They come to you and me, in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love

They wear so many faces, show up in the strangest places
To grace us with their mercy, in our time of need

Oh I believe there are, angels among us
Sent down to us, from somewhere up above
They come to you and me, in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love
To guide us with a light of love

So many of YOU have been 'Angels Among Us' with your kindness and prayers and comments.
We really do appreciate it! It's so important to be aware of the angels sent to us and to BE angels for others. I'm thinking of all the kind people who have helped take care of our Mother, and my husband, for the encouraging words, for the prayers, for Ruth Ann keeping Lucy, for the sweet card from Sharon......the list goes on and on and on.

So thank you, Dee, for the confirmation of what God was telling me all day.
Just Keep on KEEPING on!!!

And with that I am going to go to bed and get a good night's sleep!!
Perhaps tomorrow I will have the strength and energy to be an 'angel' to someone else who needs one.

Keep on keeping on is a great motto for you these days. You are swamped! I do love reading about your days and your precious attitude.

If I were an advice giving gal who liked sticking her oar in without even being asked, and who am I kidding here, I'd say tomorrow should be a day to do only what The Lord allows...does He want you to be an angel to someone? Be an angel then. Mostly, it would be lovely to be an angel for each other and have some much needed rest. What you said about not realizing how wound you've been until you started to relax rings so true. Every so often, I must check to see where my shoulders are. When they're up around my ears, I know it's time for tea. =D

A blessed day to you both!

So glad to hear that your mom is home and hubby is on the mend! We cal "keep on keeping on" over here, "moving along". Ha ha. When one of my kids is telling me of some current problem or situation they know my answer will usually be the same, and therefore it has become somewhat of a joke among us, "Pray, and then just move along..." haha Just "move along" is what we must do sometimes isn't it? Life can be soo hard at times. BTW, I agree with Vee. I think maybe today is a day where you should maybe just lay low and rest up and take turns playing "angel" to each other. So glad I've discovered you....yes, I am thinking "kindred spirit" too. Enjoy your day!

Such good news about your Mother! She does look excited!

I like Alabama songs and this is a good one. I hope you both get a chance to rest tomorrow. Enjoy your decorating. Speaking of which - are those Santa portraits on your wall?

Linda, I admire your perseverance. I am glad your mother is home and I hope that husband will be feeling better soon. It is terribly frustrating when the pharmacies are out of a medication. I hope you have a restful night and an easier tomorrow.
