It's been a beautiful day down here in the country. The wind did, indeed, die down about 3:00 this morning!
But it WAS cold when we woke up!
Louis Dean knows his way around the kitchen - even a small camper one!
He fixed sausage patties - he mixes a hot sausage with a maple flavored one - and eggs while I made blueberry biscuits.
The eggs are farm fresh from Dean's chickens.
It looks like they are already colored for Easter!
While we were eating our breakfast we looked out the window and could see Dean and Robert doing some Karate exercises to warm up on this chilly morning!
Louis Dean used his big fancy camera and a zoom lens to take their picture.
They were really quite far away!
Lucy is loving it out here!! She is a buddy with all the other dogs.
Lucy is like a city dog visiting her country dog cousins.
From the time we arrived she pretty much abandoned us in favor of Dean and Sherry and their place!
She only returned to the camper this afternoon to be with me.
She is asleep at my feet as I journal tonight.
Louis Dean has enjoyed fishing in between his working on the house.
This boat is waiting to be tested in the water.
So far no takers!! I want to go out in a boat but I want one that is sure to FLOAT!!
LD had three spells of fishing today - morning, afternoon and evening!
Right at the end he caught a good sized cat fish - a little over a pound.
You could hear him whoop and holler all the way up here to the camper!
This was our dinner tonight. We ate about 5:00 which is much earlier than we eat at home. It was the perfect time here!!
Dean grilled the pork chops and I fixed the potatoes wrapped up in foil packages to put on the grill with them.
He told me about cooking onions the same way - sliced up and salt and peppered with a big spoon of butter.
They melt in your mouth!!
Since it stays light longer I went back to work on the woodwork in the house we are helping fix up.
I sanded, painted, sanded, slapped some warmer paint on in streaks and will stain it tomorrow. Then turn it over and do the other side.
All the trim is finished and waiting in a corner!
In between the coats of paint and sanding I walked around the ranch.
Yard art......
Machines that tell a story.....
A new fire pit in the making......
Lucy and one of the horses.......
Pretty soon here came the other two!!
Lucy is having the time of her life!
I sat here on this pretty seat and read for awhile. The birds were all chirping in the background!
Roosters were crowing and the geese were honking!
This is the meadow where they have Karate events.
My favorite bench! It overlooks the lake Louis Dean fishes.
Except it's not really a lake but a 'tank.' Looks like a lake to me!
Turkeys are funny creatures!
This was the sunset as I came back to the camper this evening!
It's beautiful in the country!!!

It looks like you are enjoying the country for all of the same reasons I do...the peacefulness, the slow life and seeing all your loved ones, including pets, just eating up all that Mother Nature has to offer!
Enjoy!

Jane
