My Guest Writer - Kailey and Our Wonderful Sunday!

On Sunday we went to church for the first timye since Louis Dean had his pacemaker surgery.
He's not supposed to be around giant speakers as in concerts and Fellowship Church has concert worthy music.
We arrived late - on purpose - to avoid the loud music and went up the elevator to the balcony to be seated.
Alas, we were directed UP and Louis Dean was a bit wobbly.
Those who came in behind us decided to move on to the next set of stairs.

Suffice it to say - I need to figure out how we can attend the church services in a way that keeps Louis Dean not only comfortable but safe!

Hi, this is Kailey and I am going to be doing some of MeeMaw's journal entry tonight!

We went to church and it was finally starting to cool down a little bit so i wore my green sweater.

The message was great and paster Ed Young was speaking. When the service was over, we talked to Brenda and Billy. Then we Bells and MeeMaw and Granddad went to Dickey's  BBQ and it was so delicious but coming out we all smelt like BBQ or a campfire!

After that we split up while the others went home to chill and decorate some of the house for fall, I went to MeeMaw's!

I helped her clean out and sort her closet - changing it from spring and summer  to fall and winter!

I knew she would need some help and we were a perfect pair for the job.  We were able to finish it all and it looks so great!

After that we ate something to get us by. While we did that we baked some lemon poppy seed muffins, and when they were done,  I managed to sneak a few to eat - they were so good! Now we are on our way to our house to watch the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco play.

Thank you, Kailey for helping me - it would have taken me so much longer and, because of YOU, I filled not one but TWO big black trash bags FULL to take to the Goodwill!

When we were at Dickey's BBQ - for the first time the girls ordered adult plates!
They are growing up AND they are athletes - so they need FOOD!

Kailey found a fancy Ralph Lauren skirt that she took home with her!
She twirled like a ballerina in it!

She would hold up an item and we would look at it and if she wrinkled her nose - it went in the Goodwill pile. She also had a bag - there were several things she liked and tried on and now they are hers!
Can you imagine an 11-year-old liking something a 75-year-old wears??
I felt like such a cool grandma!!

We did go over to the Bells later to watch the Cowboys game - but we came home before it was over. Need I say more?
I absolutely LOVE spending time with the grands and even got to help them unpack some of the fall decorations. They wanted to surprise their mommy!

So where was Amber and Harrison over the weekend???

In Chicago!
They saw a bit of the city sights after the hockey tournament!

But first - the games!!

I do believe Amber was as excited as Harrison!

Love their bond!!

This was the team's first away games and the experience was great!

Getting to see Chicago was exciting.

Amber kept me up on their games and I felt the excitement and nail biting tension just as they did!

The team will travel to Austin in early December and I am going!!

I suppose this journal entry is all about the Bell Quad Squad growing up!
They are all taller than I - maybe Trystan and I are eye to eye right now but I'm pretty sure by Christmas she will have outgrown me.

The kids are such sweet blessings to me and Granddad!!

Kailey, you are so beautiful and grown up now. And you are a very good writer! You cover all the things we need to know, and explain so well! Taking those clothes was a genius move, because all styles go around and come back again.

All the Bell quads are cutie pies. And they are getting so tall. What a fun adventure for Amber and Harrison. And a little mother/son bonding time too.

The Bell quads really are growing up so fast. Seems as if it was just yesterday that they were babies. I still use the bookmarker that they made when they were toddlers. It is in my Bible and I remember to pray for them when I see it. Such a good weekend you had.

Is your church handicapped accessible? Mine is and this makes it easier for people that have trouble otherwise. Maybe you could sit in a handicapped section that would be easier for LD.

Wondering if Louis Dean would wear headphones that would reduce the decibels he hears? I don't know how much sound noise-cancelling headphones reduce.

Perhaps find a small church for now with no stairs and no loud music. That will be difficult as churches have turned to entertainment often. However for your husband…or watch online for now. I attended a larger church in Indiana where my daughter is assistant to youth pastors part time. Love all but music…loud…my family and I have started churches…first on I. The 70’s. I remember going to church in Texas in the 70’s and was shocked at the size. Love your blog. Love it.

Does Kailey want to visit Alabama? Sounds as if I could use her expertise. It is hard to believe the little quads are big kids now!! But so are my grands...it is hard to get used to for sure.

Kailey, you look fantastic in that skirt and it is one I would love too.. maybe there are noise canceling ear plugs. other than that i have no clue. the handicap is probably down by the loudest part, and it is not good to do those stairs. i know you often watch it online but want to go sometimes. It is really odd to think of the quads taller than you and remember when they were so very tiny, and good job on being the guest journalist Kailey

This post is absolutely precious. Kailey did such a fantastic job with the journal. I love how she wrote..it was like hearing her talk...and what a help she was to you. Closet cleaning is such a chore...glad she liked some of your clothes too.
You are blessed.

Kailey was an excellent guest speaker AND the best helper ever! Now you are all set for winter and have purged, too! Wow! Glad she liked some of the clothes, too. :)

How fun to see Mom and son on away game trips. Special memories for them, for sure.

When Dagan got his first pacemaker back in 1986 microwaves were a new thing and we were told he couldn't be close to one when it was running. They never said why exactly, but it was many years and microwaves being made better before we even owned a microwave. And for quite a while I still made him leave the kitchen to be on the safe side--lol! Did they say why on the big speakers? Magnets? Vibration?
