It's a Waiting Game!

After being 'off duty' for three days and back at the hospital this morning we continue to play the waiting game.

Amber has been napping off and on all day. She is still having contractions - they just have not escalated as of yet. They will not be giving her any more Indocin because it can now do more harm than good. It is official now. Amber has preclampsia. They are watching her closely. She also decided against another round of steroids which they give to help the babies' lungs. The babies may become stressed due to the preclampsia and the steroids would further stress them.

I was with her when she had her daily sonogram this afternoon. All FOUR babies once again scored 8 out of 8 on the Biophysical Profile. The fluid levels are good on all of them. Breathing, heart rates, EVERYTHING looks good! We are right at 29 weeks 3 days and 17 hours.....and you can tell I AM counting!!

Louis Dean and I enjoyed our Memorial Day. LD had a good time and I have proof!!

Just look at that bathing beauty!
We made a Goodwill run to pick up a couple of swim suits.
This is the very FIRST time LD has been near a pool or beach that he wasn't dressed up all in BLACK!!

It felt good to be out in the sun for awhile.
When we are home we are always working in the yard or something.
Now we have been inside for the most part of the last three weeks.
The vitamin D was wonderful!
Poor Amber. She is a real Beach Babe and hasn't seen the sun other than through her hospital window in some time now!

Amber and Mike were both impressed LD actually got IN the water and did some swimming!! He told the life guard not to laugh! He said, "I'm not. I was just smiling!"

I don't even pretend to swim!
Amber may be a synchronized swimmer and LOVES being underwater -
but I do NOT like to get water in my ears, nose or eyes!
So I simply float around!

It was a beautiful day! Perfect for slicing open a fat watermelon!

We came home to four little doggies sitting pretty for their treats.

Seems like this should be Monday instead of Tuesday.
LD will come with me tomorrow.
We will continue to play this 'Waiting Game!'

I am so glad to hear that Amber and the babies are continuing to do as well as possible! I guess as Amber approaches 30 weeks she will soon after be a candidate for C-section? It is so wonderful she has been able to give them all this time to grow! Take good car of yourself, too, Linda.

This is such an exciting time! So glad to see that you and LD got some swim time in together. That will do a soul good! You guys are just the sweetest couple!! Ambers dogs are lucky to have you two taking care of them. They sure are cute looking at you in that last pic! Hate to hear Amber has Preeclampsia. I've heard that can be dangerous for the mother too. I'm sure the doctors have her under tight supervision.

Glad to hear you all got some R&R on Memorial Day. Poor Amber, I feel for her. I know how anxious I'm getting, I can't imagine being in her shoes. Continued prayers for her and those babes!!!

What has come over LD not wearing black at the beach? Ha, ha. So glad you had a nice relaxing Memorial Day. I think you are going to be busy this week. It's getting close. So sorry to hear about Amber's pre-eclampsia. Will be praying.

You used your time well.

The news about the babies doing so very well is so very welcome. Praying as always... That gal of yours is amazing.

Totally amazing...that Amber is still hanging in there...and that the babies are all doing well. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers...as you wait.

So nice to hear those babies are doing well! That preclampisa is so scary. Our daughter had it when she was carrying our grandson...she made it exactly to 37 weeks but they finally took him c-section because of the risk to her and to the baby. He weighed 4lb 12oz and you would never know now he is a strapping, healthy 3 year old. I pray that Amber and the little babes can hang on and praying for you and your husband too...the waiting game cannot be easy either!

I am a long time reader but this is my first comment! I had HELLPS syndrome with my oldest and had preclampsia with both my boys. It is more dangerous for mom than babies. I will continue my prayers for Amber and her babes. You are a wonderful mama!

A little worried to read the word preclampsia, but so happy to hear Amber and the little ones are doing good.
Love your pool pics, looks like you had a very relaxing/fun weekend.
Continued prayers for Amber and the babies, and for her wonderful family:)

I just want to say, Linda - what shapely legs you both have! There's nothing more attractive than a man with shapely legs. (Hmmm, Louis Dean would look good in the kilt)
