Tuesday Treasures......

It's Tuesday and I dressed up like I was going on a date!

Now that my closet is more organized, I found clothes I haven't seen in awhile!
I wore some brown leggings so I needed a top that would cover my hips. I found one but it was sleeveless so I needed another layer to cover my arms. Then I needed a scarf to soften my neckline.
By the time I was finished - I was dressed up 'just like a little doily' to use Amber's words!

In this photo you can see the closet door is back on its track and I no longer have to worry about it falling over on me!

My first stop was the post office and I found my favorite postal workers wearing blue latex gloves and matching blue masks. I was glad there wasn't a long line as normally there is.
I used hand sanitizer before and after my transaction. It's also a good idea to carry a 'tapper' in your purse for the electronic pad where you pay with your credit card. No touching with your finger.

Next I stopped in at Goodwill - first to unload more bags from my trunk and then to see what treasures I might find. They were very well set up with paper towels and disinfectant spray to use on your buggy handle as you come in and then hand sanitizer as you leave.

Aldi was my next stop.
You could tell they had been busy as there were several bare spots on the shelves.
It was much more crowded there than at the thrift store. Plus no disinfectant or hand sanitizer available for customers. I was prepared. I sprayed a tissue with Lysol while I was in the car and used that to wipe down my buggy handle.

I found everything on my list except for a box of salt and orange juice.
Not bad.

And look what Louis Dean had in his music room!
He keeps tea bags, ZipLok bags, paper towels and the odd thing or two - like salt and steak seasoning in there. Why??? I have no idea!

I must say that all the people I saw today were kind and polite.
One young man helped get my milk at Aldi. I was going to have to walk in the refrigerated room since the tray in front of the door was empty.
Even in driving today, I noticed everyone was being so friendly.
It makes my heart happy to see our present situation bringing out the good in us.

So here are my treasures!

I could not pass up this tall arrangement!
It will live here but I need to tweak this foyer area and I will - when I get to that room.
Right now I am stuck on the hall and Louis Dean's bathroom since I didn't get much done at home today.

I hung the Blessings above the music room door....relocating the Welcome Friends sign that was there.

I collect these Pier 1 bowls and this made my 10th one.
We use them all the time!

Simplify now hands in the hall over the towel hamper.

I thought these leggings were so cool!

And mama and baby bunnies are made from soft painted canvas.
I left them out on the front porch bench.

I love this sign!
It is now hanging in the guest room - replacing what was there before.
That will now go in the truck for my next Goodwill drop off.

This one will also go in the guest room.

Would you believe I have never had a Susan Branch book?
Calendars - yes. But never a book before.

The color of this sheet is black although it looks blue in the photo.
I have a quilt top all made and have meant to use a light blue sheet for the backing.
It's on my sewing machine and I have been dragging my feet in getting it sewn.
That's because I really wanted a black sheet. But how often do you see a black sheet at Goodwill?
Seek and ye shall find!
It reminded me of the black denim quilt I sewed for Louis Dean's son in law, Byron.
He loves the Texas Longhorns so I wanted to use an orange sheet as his quilt backing.
I went up to the thrift store and there it was.
God just blesses me like that.
Some folks find great sales like my daughters, but God specializes in thrift stores for me.
And with people giving me treasures.

This is that magnificent weed I was telling you about.

My herb garden is loving all this rain!

Tonight we had BBQ sandwiches and roasted veggies for a late supper.
Since it's St. Patrick's Day, I meant to make Irish Soda Bread, buttered cabbage and steak....
but that will be tomorrow's dinner now.

Summer went to her appointment this morning and they removed the trial version of her Spinal Cord Stimulator. They said she is an excellent candidate for the surgery and we hope to see that scheduled in the very near future. Praise God and thank YOU for all the prayers prayed on her behalf!!

That's all I have for today! It will be another week before I leave the house now.
I'll go back to my cleaning and nesting in the morning.
So far Louis Dean hasn't been bothered about not getting out and going somewhere.
By the time it does bother him, it will be dry enough to go back down to the ranch!
Win! WIN!!

I hope Summer's surgery will give her all the results she is hoping for. You founds lots of goodies, those canvas rabbits, the signs to hang, and you look very pretty and lacy in that photo. The county announced today everyone must stay home until April 2, except for essential work and food shopping, etc. I've already stayed home one week and I miss people!

I love the flower arrangement and the signs! I say there are no weeds; only wildflowers that grow quickly! And this is one I have never seen. I am so glad that Summer will finally feel so much better! You are the prettiest doily I have ever seen!

Glad to hear about Summer. Hope it works as well for her as it has for my hubby. I am sure it will.

I am loving seeing all the good that is coming out in folks during these trying days, too. I also like that the news seems to be putting a lot of focus on it rather than the negative. I haven't been out so I don't know if our thrift shops are staying open...the governor has recommended they don't (as he has for all non-essential stores). Thank the Lord for the good news about Summer! Have a blessed day!

this is good news for summer, will keep her in prayers . you could be a doily or you could just be a decoration in your room since you match it perfectly...I had to smile when you said you never had a Susan Branch book, I never heard of her or book or calendar and everything on your post today, I have never had a single one of these things. love you and all your treasurers. they are YOU.

You make an adorable doily. ☺️ My last day out was Monday and I am already feeling antsy. Planning on holding out until April, then reassess.

Hope that Summer can have the surgery soon as possible. So glad that this worked. Thank you, Lord.

Louis Dean did a good job on that closet door. Looks great.

Happy homemaking!

Glad you had such a successful trip out. You do and the most amazing things at the thrift store. You are blessed. It's a wonderful way to have more with lwsss cost. I haven't had to go out and my be asking my son or daughter to pick things up for me. I'm apprehensive about going out at all. We do have to remember those days for what we do have rather than complain about what we don't. Take care and enjoy your days at home. Just don't over do it.

You have a lot to keep you busy. That's a good thing. I do, too. but, to get it done... well, that's another thing.

Delightful "Doily"...I had to giggle at that...
You look beautiful and I'm so glad you were able to get what you needed from the store.
Your Thrift Treasures are amazing. Its been a long time since I got some treasures myself.
I guess I will have to do a post on the few things I got several days ago...before our Gov. mandated we have to stay home and not go out. All schools have been closed and non essential businesses too. Restaurants can only do drive thru or door pick up no Dine-In allowed. Even the Casinos are closed. Movie Theaters etc. too.
Guess I'm going to get a lot of "Spring Cleaning" done..maybe???

You make me feel tired hearing about all you do! Today I'm going to try to bake my very first loaf of bread... I'll need some luck. Cheers

I had to laugh, Linda, as I just did the same thing a while back. Took a load to the Thrift Store. Then went inside and bought more stuff. HaHa. That's a good routine..everybody wins.

Glad Summer is doing good. She looks cute in her mask.

You looks adorable all dolled up and ready to shop!! I love layers.

I love your outfit! Your Goodwill seems to have so much more than ours does. I thought about going today, but decided that I should not since we are being told to stay in and the doctor is concerned about my husband contracting this virus. UGH!!
