Back to the Country!!

We were pretty proud of ourselves for getting and getting with it this morning! It was not even 11:00 when we pulled out of the driveway with ME at the wheel. Louis Dean woke up tired and when I offered to do the driving - he was quick to take me up on it!

We made it to Waco right on time to meet up with Dean and Sherry at Fuji Japanese Steakhouse to celebrate Dean's birthday. He was born on a Mother's Day and it falls on Mother's Day this year - but we will be celebrating all weekend!

The chef flipped rice into our open mouths!
I didn't catch mine and Louis Dean said, "Don't even think about it!"

The chef also squirted sake - a Japanese rice wine into any open mouth!
I thought it tasted pretty good! LD passed on that one, too!

The three of us got chicken.....

while Louis Dean went for the steak and scallops!

It was so much fun!!!

From there we went to the Bulk Buy Goodwill!
This is where all the stuff that doesn't sell in the regular Goodwill stores within a given time goes.
There it is sold in bulk - by the pound!!

The first thing I saw was Sherry holding out this sunflower hat!

We scored on so many things. Trays, a power strip, box fan, another hat, fall debris, a glass tea pitcher and so much more!!

After that - we parted ways and they went off on their errands and we went off on ours.

It was not even 6:00 when we arrived at the ranch and by 7:30 we were sitting out on the deck with our glass of wine.

This is my happy place!!!

I changed the tablecloth and added a few things - I suppose this is my favorite spot in the camper.
It's where I sit to write and where I am now.

I love seeing the light change as the sun goes down behind the camper!

Louis Dean is already preparing for his work tomorrow.
But not yet!
He said this is the first time he is feeling something close to what I feel every time I come here.
A lifting of the spirit....a relaxing of the burdens......a peace that slowly seeps inside of you.
I thank God and I thank Dean and Sherry for allowing us to have this special place where we can really and truly say.....Ahhhhhh.....isn't this wonderful??

Happy Birthday, Shihan Dean Chapman!!!!
We love and appreciate you and this magical place you so generously share with others!

Happy Birthday to Dean! Sounds as if it will be a fabulous, celebratory weekend. You know, it's not often that a builder works in his stocking feet. John would have gotten a kick out of that...😊

Linda, That looks like a fun time with the kids. I am so glad you have a peaceful place to relax. If only LD knew how. LOL...that working man. Do you hear the rooster in the morning there? Hope the weekend is filled with good times and lots of fun. Happy Mother's Day and happy birthday to Dean. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, Susie

I understand that feeling completely. It is how I feel at our little house at Grimmwood. We both just calm down the minute we get everything unloaded and take a seat on the swing. Have a good week.

what a great way and place to celebrate a birthday. I have never eaten in one but would like to try it.

Okay, I've tried 4 times to write a comment from my iPad but lost it every time. I've moved to the desktop computer to see if it will do the job for me. You got away from me on this trip to the camper. I was expecting more warning. It's good you're back at the job because the weather is only going to get hotter and LD doesn't need to work that hard in that awful heat. I keep thinking about Summer. I think she should write a blog about her new life in Puerto Rico. I know very little about Puerto Rico but would be interested in knowing more. I think Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor may be from Puerto Rico. What is that health care system like there? Do they have private insurance companies, single payer, or something else? The health care debate will never stop in this country. We're still arguing over Medicare and Medicaid so why should we hope there will be an answer to Obama/Trump care. I hope she can get good coverage for healthcare. With that back it sounds like she will need it. I'll be following the building progress and all the adventures with the animals.

So glad that you find peace and tranquility at the camper dear Linda, you deserve it. Love that LD has a building project on the go down at that camper too X
