First Art Class of 2014!

It has been a much better day for me today! AZO and lots and lots of water helped. I called the doctor's office and have an appointment for Friday. Louis Dean will have a date with my mother that day! Thank God for such a good husband! Of course,  Mother is a pretty interesting lady and a lot of fun!

What made this day so special? My good friend, Ruth Ann is back home! I picked her up shortly after 9:00 this morning and we headed to Dallas! We notched our Goodwill hunting up a peg with a NEW store! New to us, anyway!! I found some treasures as I nearly always do and SHE found a bird clock! It has a different bird song for each hour!

Just GUESS where we went next???

The Goodwill was near Quadville so, naturally, we had to drop in!!
The babies are talking and changing and growing so FAST I just want to hold them tight and say, "SLOW DOWN!!!" The three girls called me 'MeeMaw' today while Amber was firmly saying 'GRANDma!'
Harrison - being so quick - said it just fine!

This was Ruth Ann's first time to visit QV! The last time she had seen the quads in person was July!!
They loved her - as EVERYONE does!!!

Oh, my! These girls are always dressed so CUTE!!

My beautiful daughter! I took the things I found yesterday to her and she had fun reading what she had written back when she was 8 years old.

Ruth Ann and I  blazed new trails with our trip to a DALLAS Goodwill and followed it up with a DALLAS theater!! Cinemark 10 in Plano! It is just 8 minutes from Amber's house and thereby we now have 20 movies to choose from! 10 at Starplex here in Irving and 10 at Cinemark. The price is DOUBLE in Dallas - making our movie a whopping $1.00!!!

Our movie of choice was Ender's Game and we truly enjoyed it!

After the movie - with the afternoon still young - we stopped at Central Market which is a treat anytime!!
We may just add this as a regular stop for future Tuesdays!
They have a cafe and everything! Yes, good times ahead!

Tonight I broke out the paints and we had our first art class of the year!
There were just the two of us since Sabrina had some business appointments.
I worked on that 'violent' looking Rain painting and hopefully toned it down some.
I hope to finish it next week.

Our project tonight was a landscape.

We based in about half of the canvas. Ruth Ann is a quick learner and I felt more like a teacher tonight than I have in a long time. Mainly because some of the recent things we have painted were not things I already knew how to paint so I was stretching to learn just as they were!
Landscapes - those I know! I used to be a pretty good teacher and in year's past I always had a full table and sometimes even MORE! Our daughter in law, Sherry, and her sister, Cindy, came by to visit while we painted. That just put the perfect finish to a GREAT Tuesday!!

I can't believe the kids are talking already! I can't believe how old they are either. Heading for 2 this year. My grandkids call me "Memaw" so you are in good company.

What a fun day you and Ruth Ann had. Movie, visit, Goodwill, shopping. Who could ask for more?

I like the landscape you are painting. Such pretty colors. Can't wait to see it take shape. My mom loved to paint landscapes and she would have enjoyed painting with you.

Glad that you are feeling so much better! That's a big plus.

My grands found saying "Nonni" easy, but my daughter called her Grandma "Grayma" for years. When she stopped, my mother was quite sad.

Your friend is brave...no apron! I'd have paint from stem to stern. I look forward to watching the progress of this painting.
