I just love my Tuesdays!!!
I was picking Ruth Ann up shortly after 9:00 this morning and we headed to Dallas!
First stop! Quadville!!
The babies were excited to see us!
Logan warmed up to Aunt Ruth Ann and gave her several big hugs!
Ruth Ann got down in the floor to play with them!
As much as we enjoyed the visit - the quads all expected to see Granddad any minute!
I think they were disappointed!
I promised them Granddad and I would be back in the morning!
From there we hit up the Goodwill before having lunch at an Asian diner and taking in a movie at Cinemark 10 in Plano - where the movies are just $1.00 all day on Tuesdays.
The movie of choice this afternoon? The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
One of us usually say something about the movie - if we thought it was worth fifty cents - or in this case a whole dollar! Today Ruth Ann said, "Well........it wasn't AWFUL!!"
We laughed and laughed!! Every week we pick a movie from the choices available - and oftentimes we see something that is surprisingly GOOD - and sometimes NOT so good!
I picked the movie today so I told Ruth Ann, "Next week YOU pick!!"
We start art class along about 6:00. Just setting it all up puts me in the mood to paint!
I do so love the smell of turpentine! It was 81 degrees today so I had the French doors open and my neighbor, Stephanie, said even SHE could smell the turp! I worked on my Rain Princess - which had been looking pretty violent! - and she had calmed down after I painted about a half hour on her. I forgot to take pics but I hope I can pull that painting out because I have TWO MORE to do! I promised one to my sister, Luann, and one to my friend, Candie!
I also worked on an angel. Sabrina painted the one on the left using modeling paste and acrylics.
I based in the one on the right using oils. I will add the modeling paste next week.
Mine is painted on canvatex and I can cut it to fit an 8 X 10 frame. Sabrina painted two other angels making a set and I want to do the same. I have an 'Angel Wall' in my foyer and maybe I can add to it with these!
Ruth Ann and I are each painting a landscape. It's been a long time since I painted a mountain scene!
It's been a long time since I have SEEN the mountains! Louis Dean and I are going to Colorado on vacation in September so I will get my 'Mountain Fix' then! I love seeing how the painting develops after every session! To put the icing on the cake - so to speak! - Sherry our 'Daughter in Love' dropped by to visit! She has a true artist's eye! We're always asking her to critique our work! Plus Louis Dean loves nothing better than to sit down and talk to Sherry!
It has been SUCH a good Tuesday!
Goodwill, movie and ART!!
Win! WIN!!

What a fun filled day you had! I haven't seen that movie before. It looked a little strange. LOL! Your paintings are lovely.
Linda, So glad you and Ruth had a great day together. Your painting look very nice. I am amazed every time I see the quads now, they are turning into little people. Blessings to all of you, xoxo,Susie
last time i was here, you were sick....i am so happy you are feeling better!!
you have some serious talent girl!!
...and I bet that mountain painting will turn out perfectly!!!! Now, let me get this straight...there is an "Aunt Ruth Ann" and one of the quads is Ruth Ann? Or am I terribly confused?!!!
Haha! No.....Ruth Ann is the sister of Louis Dean 's first wife. She and I are good friends. Ld has known her since she was 15! All the quads middle name is Lee.
Have I mentioned how cute your latest haircut is? Probably three times. But just in case...
I love how your families are so beautifully entwined. =D
