Our Monday in Mountain View.....

Today Louis Dean gathered his things up to prepare for the jam session tonight -
and discovered he had left his guitar strap at home.

No worries!
In the Folk Music Capital of the World, one should be able to find a guitar strap and, sure enough, we did! At an antique mall with dozens of little stalls right there on the square!
It's a real nice one, too, of tooled leather and at a reasonable price.

After we finished browsing around, we stopped for lunch at The Rusty Cup Cafe.

Another delicious meal!

I had a grilled cheese and salad and tea.

FANCY tea!!
And it was GOOD!!!

Back to the cabin to rest and Louis Dean ran through his songs for tonight.
He's had such a good time with all we've done but this is the first time he's actually played with other musicians.

He's so cute and he gets so excited about his music.

The jam session started at 7:00 so he was there at 6:30!
It's literally right next door!

I didn't walk over until a little after 7:00 and it was exciting to see all the musicians playing different instruments. Two more musicians came in just before I left but I counted four mountain dulcimers, one violin, one banjo, one autoharp and Louis Dean played the ONLY guitar and was the ONLY singer!
He is also the oldest player there! He doesn't LOOK like the oldest but they all told their ages and he is.

He had them at A Daisy a Day!
I watched them all relax and smile and when he finished singing - it was smiles all around and they applauded him.

I left shortly after that to do some writing in my book before he gets back.
As I was leaving, he announced, "My wife is a writer and has to get back to her book!"

For some reason it makes me happy tonight to know he is doing what he loves while I am doing what I do.

Tomorrow is our last full day here and it is going to be a good one.
The Ozark Folk Center!
It will be a perfect ending to our Mountain View vacation!

I had to go back a couple of posts to find out where in the world you had driven to. I think it sounds like such a wonderful time for both your musician husband and yourself too. Lots of good times, good food, good friends. Have a safe trip back home.
