Our January Wednesday in the Country!

This was our second full day here at the ranch and we've loved every minute of it!

We nearly always start our days with coffee and prayer.
I keep a prayer journal and that's our Bible Basket on the floor beside my chair that holds our devotional books and the Bible. We are now in Titus moving our way through to the end of the New Testament before we start the Chronological Bible.

Louis Dean sits in the big green wing chair Deanie gave us a few years ago,
It fits him and he loves it.

Our cats are having such a good time here in the camper/cabin.
This morning they played Hide And Seek ......

This is Tabitha's hiding place ....in the chair partially tucked under the table in the front room.

Samantha searched from one end of the room to the other and never found her!
By the time she looked at the chair - Tabitha was already gone!

We eat breakfast for lunch just about every day!
That jam on the biscuits that I successfully managed to burn on both sides was delicious.

This was in my Christmas stocking!

We are praying over our Christmas cards.....one each day.

Today was the one from my friend, Carla.
I loved it so much I put it on the fridge!
It just goes with the country vibe here!
Some I frame and all I treasure....
and every one who sent a card is prayed for by name and on pirpose.

I put a beef stew together in the crock pot today and late this afternoon, I took the peelings down to fed the goats. They eat just about anything.

Dean and Sherry are letting some of the roosters free range and I met this one on the way to the goat pens.

Dean teaches Karate on Wednesdays so they had put the critters up for the night before they left for class. Goats love to eat!

This pen holds the mother and her kids.

They even love pretzels!

Who doesn't love a pretty goat??

The horses seem to be hanging around them lately.

I walked back up to our place and found Louis Dean 'John Wayne-ing' some firewood!

He may be 85 but he can still swing an axe!

And he swings it well!

He's pretty proud of himself and I am proud of him!
God is good to us.

We sat with a glass of wine in front of the first campfire we've had in a long long time.

The cats were watching from inside and was all eyes and at attention when we came in.

Our dinner was delicious!
The water lines had thawed out so we have had water all day today.
While I did the dishes and worked on my journal entry, Louis Dean took a nice long hot shower.
Our timing is perfect because I am done and he is out so it's my turn!

I'm loving eeverything about being in the country!

We never heard of Chronological bibles, believe it or not! But now I have researched all of them, so cool! One that is a study bible would be good for us. How awesome that you pray for your Christmas card senders! That sure is a pretty rooster. In fact, it looks like the one on your card.

The fire is my favorite thing of course and the second thing is that beautiful rooster even though I'm afraid of roosters he sure is a beautiful one! And you know how much I loved the horses and the goats that goes without saying. If I lived close enough that I could get there I would ask you if I could rent your little cabin for a week to spend in the country with all those animals and in your adorable cabin but not in the winter when pipes freeze haha

I am so glad you are in the country as I know you love your time there. Sorry that the pipes were frozen, but it is that type of weather. I love the goats! I am glad that LD still feels like swinging that axe!

The ranch is certainly your place of restoration.
I love how you can sit in front of the fire and just "Be".
I must begin my prayer journal in ernest this year. Sometimes I begin great but just poop out along the way.
My word for this year is "INTENTIONAL" In my prayer life, in my relationships with others, in my photography, in my weight saga.
I have put this in writing so I am reminded of it at those times when I am just sliding along.
Enjoy your time at the ranch.

Wow, Linda! You should take advantage of the 45% off blog book thing the commenter just above me mentioned. I know you usually get your blog printed. What an awesome gift you are leaving your children and grandchildren!! They will always have it to share with one another, and you and Louis Dean can look back to a certain date in a certain year fondly! Look at that cowboy chopping wood. I pray that he continues to be hearty and healthy. I know you do all you can to keep him this way, and just building him up in prayer means the world! Then feeding him up good and enjoying devotionals in the a.m. and campfires in the the p.m. make him smile, I know. Yes indeed, you two are so very blessed to be each other's blessings!
It makes me smile to know you pray over the cards. It's so wonderful to have wonderful, caring friends.I am so thankful to have you for a friend. 💕💕😊
