Another GOOD Day!

Every day down here on the ranch has been a GOOD day! And every day has been just a little bit different from the others! Today we FINALLY went to the Fuji Japanese Steak House in Waco for lunch! We have TRIED and tried to go - back in May but all that flooding kept us on the ranch! Then in July, the times just didn't work out. FINALLY, we made it there today!!!

This was to celebrate my step son's birthday (May 14th) and Mother's Day for me and then Louis Dean and my 10th wedding anniversary! The celebrations just kept adding up!
I am so glad we didn't have to add my birthday to it!!
I want to celebrate that all on its own with Mexican food and some good margaritas!!!

Sherry was so cute when the chef rolled an egg in front of her!
LOVE the way Dean is looking at her!
It is such a joy to spend time with these two wonderful people and see the way they love each other and how they welcome us into their lives!

Our chef was talented and charming!!!
We laughed and had such a good time!
Doesn't everyone love sake when the chef squirts it from the grill into your mouth with a Ketchup bottle???

The food was delicious!!!

My step son is quite adept with chopsticks!

We parted ways from Dean and Sherry after lunch.
They had errands to do in town and we went back to the camper to do 'our thing.'

That means Louis Dean fixed our porch light and I did some housework. Or is it called 'Camper work?' Whatever it is, it is nowhere near as time consuming as keeping house at home!!
A 31 foot camper only has so much space to even NEED to clean!!

I used my free time to roam around and take pictures.

I actually took this one from the deck in front of our camper!

These cows belong to Dean's neighbor but WE get to enjoy them without ANY of the responsibilities of ownership!!

There's always something pretty to look at!

This classic vintage vehicle is scheduled for restoration soon.
It belongs to Sherry's daughter.

The deck is nearly finished! We are hoping to get it done tomorrow but rain is in the forecast and with those deep craters of cracked earth all over the property, we do so long for RAIN!

While we do not see the sunrises down here - we DO enjoy the sunsets!!!

I close with this quote from Our Country Diary....

"The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do."
Galleo Gallei ( 1564 - 1642 )

Linda, What fun times you are having. I know it's good for LD and his son having man time together too. You have built a deck...does that mean the camper has a permanent home there....that deck, is going to be used and loved to no end. The cattle look impressive. Blessings to all, love you, Susie

I love eating at Japanese restaurants like that. it's really an experience isn't it? The food is always good too. I liked the pics you took of the land around you and the cattle. it must be so peaceful there. The deck looks nice too. that should help keep the dirt out of the camper too.

Love Japanese food! It's expensive so we go once in a blue moon. I love the ranch. The sunset is beautiful! You two are soooo cute!

What a great place to eat, and a great place to relax. So good to get away from it all and just let go. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by. Things will work out here. I am holding up so far, hah. So glad to see you on the ranch. That's on my list to get a camper of some sort, sometime. Miss reading your posts. Hugs

Sounds like a good day. Dean and Sherry are a great couple, both seems friendly and down to earth people. I think that's refreshing. The only thing that I think would have made the day better if after the wonderful meal you went to the camper for a nice nap, instead of cleaning. (:

That was a good day. This city girl longs to have a week like yours at a ranch. Love the pictures of the cows. Your deck is really nice addition. And your lunch looked so fun. Love the entertainment and the food.

Girl if you celebrate your birthday all week or month you can fit the one with just the two of ya. LOL. That single cow was looking at you like Hey did I say you could take my picture. That deck looks great I can hope David will build me one like that if we get an RV to park there to stay in when we go up to the farm.
