Short and Sweet!

Today's entry is short and sweet!! That's because I did so very little today! I didn't even leave my bed until after noon! Louis Dean brought me coffee and then I just turned over and went back to sleep. A flare up of diverticulitis caused me to have a painful night so I spent all day recovering!

While I slept, HE made his homemade biscuits and a sausage/scrambled egg dish for a late lunch.

A late supper was strawberry shortcake using those sweet buttery biscuits left from this morning!

I have spent a lot of time reclining on the couch beside Maddie today and
caught up on some recorded TV programs, did some reading and pretty much RESTED all day long.
Not one speck of housework did I do!
Hoping to feel better in the morning because it would be a shame to spend the ONE day this week when we will have pretty weather on the sidelines! Cold, icy wintry conditions are back in the forecast for Wednesday!

I know it's early for us night owls - but we are off to bed!!!

Linda, I hope you recover quickly. I had an attack of diverticulitis in the summer of 2012 and it was terrible, so I can relate. And I have only one kidney, too, since the age of 4! Take good care of yourselves and I hope your bout with the diverticulitis passes quickly. Sending you a hug.

Awww, I am so sorry! I KNOW. Diverticulitis has been a huge battle for me in recent years. I have had four attacks, been hospitalized three times, and had a conference with a surgeon. Now I am under the care of a special department in a large teaching hospital and I have been taking two experimental drugs, plus made radical changes to my diet. And so far it has worked! I have not had an attack in a year! I hope you get well soon, Linda. I will pray that all this will pass and be gone for good! Have I told you how awesome your boot picture is? You are really talented!

Linda, I was told that if you have diverticulitis you should never eat seeds and nuts. Nuts you can chew up very fine, may not hurt. But berry seeds are dangerous, as they can get into the little pockets in the intestine and cause infection or irritation. My SIL's mom has it. LD is a good nurse. :):) That man loves to bake. Makes me smile. We are having ice.. hopefully things will clear up for our brother's funeral this week. Blessing, take care of yourself. xoxo,Susie

Oh you are brave to eat strawberries just now. Such a miserable affliction that is and so I hope that you are soon past it. Call the doc if not! No sense in suffering. Saying a prayer for you...
