An Easter Craft and Dressing the Den!

I felt so much better today than I did yesterday!
As soon as I woke up this morning I was thinking of the things I could do today while still resting and recovering. That's when I knew I was REALLY getting better! Yesterday I wanted to do nothing more than just lie there in bed. Not good!

Louis Dean was SO wishing I was back to my old self!
That is until I gave him a project to do!
I needed fence boards to make Easter Bunnies!

He was faithful, as always, to do what he could to make my plans happen!
I painted the two bunnies in the center back in 1996.....

and Amber and Benjamin painted the ones on the sides.
Granddad made sure he cut enough fence pieces for ALL the grands!!!
Now THEY will have THEIR very own bunnies!!!

While I got down all the Easter/Spring decorations, Louis Dean was cooking chicken and dumplings. You could smell it all the way into the back yard!!! It was delicious!!!

We would work awhile and then rest. Maddie just rested. All day.

We watched with interest when Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, addressed the joint session of Congress. Personally, Louis Dean and I will always side with Israel. Just as personally, we are more than a little embarrassed at the behavior and attitude of our president.

My good friend, Dawn, in Florida sends me these great publications from Publix!
She sends them to me every month!
One of my favorite things to do - pour a glass of wine and peruse these magazines!
Thank you, Dawn!!!

I took away all the earth tones and set the table in the den with spring colors.

Then I took another break and watched Sunday's recording of Downton Abbey!
It was WONDERFUL!!

In between chores I also did some work on a writing project -  a timeline of my siblings and my childhood. We have never had an overview of our early life and we are now trying to piece together our memories in order to make one!

We have an Easter Tree in the den!

The baby grand piano is covered in a hand sewn quilt I received recently from Mother!!!
The stars are double knit - I used to sew all of Mother's dresses when she worked so I recognized these stars!

The den is clean!!!

One room done!

Easter comes early this year and the time change is this coming Sunday!!!
Can you BELIEVE this????

This is where I sit tonight writing my journal entry.
Louis Dean made loaded baked potatoes for our dinner.
He is on a roll!

Our day is just about done.
It's time to pour the wine.
It's been a GOOD day!

Linda, I love seeing your home. Man, that LD sure can cook !! You got a good one when you found him...and so did he when he found you :):) I laughed about your double knit..my gosh I used that to make so many articles of clothing. I made my Mom a pant suit once and she work it to work, at the K-Mart. Her manager asked her where she had been shopping, she sure didn't get that suit at K-Mart...Mommy just laughed and said , "well I got the material here and my daughter made this. " She had the last laugh there. Blessings to your household. I love your bunny fencing...so darn cute. xoxo,Susie

I support Israel too and couldn't agree more about being embarrassed by our President and his group.

I'm so glad you are feeling better. Tuesday Bible study is back on and we prayed for you and LD yesterday.

Your bunny boards are so cute! I know the grands are going to love having their own.

Don't you sometimes wish you had the life of a cat? Your Maddie and her twin my Snowy get fed, petted, have a warm house and get to sleep all day!

I love that you and your sisters are doing a timeline. What a great idea! It will be very interesting to read once it's completed.

Easter is coming. I have off from work today and hope to get some of that decorating done myself!

Great minds think alike Linda. I got out my Easter decorations yesterday as well. When my grands got home from School they were interested in finding out where the Jelly Beans were!!lol. I told them I would fill up the big Easter Egg with Jelly Beans as soon as I went to the store. Glad you are on the mend. I am sure those Chicken Dumplings spurred you on!

Yay for feeling better! You've accomplished so much on that burst of energy!

Well, we agree with you on both Benjamin Netanyahu and our own president. I kept wishing we could hear some positive things from our own leader as we heard from Israel's. I get the sense that he loves the United States where I do not get that sense from many of our own leadership. We stand with Israel, too.

I am making pork chops in the crockpot for supper. Hmmmm...smells so delish around here. I'm pretty sure that it's smelling good there, too!

Cute rabbits!

You are always so 'on the ball'...reminding me that it is time to get my decor ready for the season! I'm glad you expressed your 'personal' opinion...I'm with you there.

Wasn't it a great season finale to Downton Abbey? Loved it.

What cute bunny slats. What fun for the quad. Your chicken and dumplings looks so good. Haven't had them in years.

We also watched Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and like you will always stand with Israel and fee the same disappointment with our president.

Those bunny boards are so sweet and what a great tradition!

I share your feelings about Israel.

I'm so sad to see Downton Abbey be over for now, but was glad they left us with a happy happy. Please Tom, don't leave.
