Celebrating Monday!

Louis Dean's driver's license expires on his birthday next week......November 16th.
He will be 85 years old! We tried to renew it in MArlin when we were in the country last visit but I didn't bring his birth certificate. So.....I called my niece, Trish, daughter of Deanie, and she made an appointment for us at DPS to renew it. I could not navigate the online way to do it myself!

Today was the day and we woke up early and headed to Fort Worth. I did NOT want to be late so we ended up being so EARLY that we shopped a thrift store until it was a half hour before our appointment! Talk about a good experience! Everyone was so sweet! From the lady at the door that signed us in to Dimples who did the renewal for us and had the patience of Job!
I truly hope we did not embarrass Trish with our fumbling and bumbling ways!
We walked out with a done deal and got in our car at 10:59. Our appointment was for 11:00!
Talk about a Win! WIN!!

It's all in who you know and we know Trish!
And now we know Dimples!
We went to IHOP to celebrate and Louis Dean raised a cup of coffee in their honor!

It was a good day!
I had an appointment with Dr. Nuss for my final post surgery visit at 2:45 in Mansfield, so we had some extra time and I spent it at Tuesday Morning doing the very first of my Christmas shopping!
This year I am getting stockings for everyone - or using stockings I already have - and filling them up with stuffers! I made a start and had a good time doing it!

My appointment with Dr. Nuss was short and sweet!
He's the doctor that wears cowboy boots and shirts and jeans and is as cute as he can be.
He and his wife teach a young married couples class at their church.
I love seeing people who serve others as they are serving God. I don't think you can serve one without serving the other.

We left the house at 9:20 this morning and came home at 3:45!

Sandra of Mad Snapper fame sent this photo after receiving her Santa Express canvas today!
I mailed out several on Thursday and I know 3 of the 4 arrived today - all in different parts of the country! Sandra is in Florida, Sharilyn is in Utah and my brother is in Kansas City.....and one other is still out for delivery tomorrow. I'm always glad when I know a package I've sent has arrived without damage!

I came in and started back to my work of taking fall down while Louis Dean cooked his 'goulash' for our supper. It's really more like a hamburger stew - there is no pasta at all. Just ground beef, onions, peppers, and veggies.

We took a wine break before dark fell.......and sat outside on the kitchen deck counting our blessings!
Doesn't everyone plunk some fruit in their glass of Chardonney?

You got a lot accomplished today! Sandra sure could use a pick up right now, so she was the best person to win your painting!

So glad you had help in getting the license! Things are really a mess to do these days, and we don't have anyone close by anymore. ๐Ÿผ
Glad you are healed up well, and the lovely paintings arrived alright!!๐Ÿ’•

Well all in all,a most fruitful day. But what I am compelled to say dear Linda, is...L D does NOT look 85. You keep him young at heart and it shows. Love the photo of you two.

Were you given a nod all's well with your post surgery?

It is nice to have some younger friends who can help out occasionally. Keeping up with technology is certainly a chore and if you get behind, heaven help you!! Happy Birthday to Louis Dean!!

I do love your glasses in the picture with L.D. They look perfect with the shape of your face. Don't suppose they were mail order?

Happy Birthday to Louis Dean. I know you are keeping him healthy and happy. Wishing him many more years of good health and happiness.

Boy I hope I can be that spry and enjoying life at 85!

Do you know I've never dunked fruit in Chardonnay - occasionally I will add soda water to it. Cheers

Thank you for stopping by my blog. Feel free to try the Hodgepodge on Wednesdays. It's a friendly group and has been a lot of fun over the years. Leaving the DMV early is for sure a win! Have a great day!

Happy Birthday to LD. So happy he got his license. I went to the BMV to get my home address changed and they made me get a new license. Honestly the pictures from there make us all look like we need to be behind bars. Yikes. We can smile but not show our teeth. What?? Yes, Linda, I love when we get in early and out without problems. Blessings to all of you, xoxo, love, Susie

Love your shopping experience reports! My shopping is mostly online now as in person has become more challenging. Your sharing of life's joys and challenges enriches my life. Thanks from a fellow Linda!
