Celebrating Father's Day and the Day After.....

Louis Dean is counting down the days until his surgery! He is actually looking forward to it!
His leg has been hurting so much he it keeps him awake. Sunday morning I went to church by myself and Louis Dean met up with us over in Quadville later in the afternoon.

The quads were so excited about giving their Dada the card they made!

They each remembered which flower was theirs and pointed them out!

They were just adorable!!

As always - they greeted Granddad as soon as he came in!!!

I love hearing their sweet little voices say, "Happy Father's Day!"

They weren't the only ones to wish Louis Dean that!

This is from Amber's  Facebook post yesterday:
Happy Fathers Day to these two awesome guys!! Louis Dean has been an amazing father figure to me for almost ten years now, something I cherish since my own dad chose to no longer be involved in my life. Which all makes me sooooo grateful to see my own children grow up with such an incredible dad and a special granddad, too. Love you both!!

It was a good afternoon! We ate lunch and put the kids down for naps - along with the men folk, too!
Amber and I watched a movie - or at least part of it before everyone was waking up!!

The day called for a Sunday afternoon Tea Party!!

Amber had some special Mint and Lemongrass tea AND Cranberry and Green Tea Cookies from HEB!

We drank two small pitchers FULL!!

Logan is a little gymnast!
It was a fun day watching the kids play and just being together.

Saturday and today have been 'Home Days.' Time to putter around the house doing little the things that seem to pile up.

I sewed some more embellishments to my '65' year old birthday quilt.

Soon to be 67 - I continue to work on it!

It's now back on the bed until I get some more trimming ideas in my mind!

Last Tuesday while at Home Goods I purchased curtains for the French doors in the sewing room.
They were WAY too long so I cut them off and will hem them......soon.

This late afternoon and evening I have been pulling weeds and tiny trees and trying to keep our flower beds in some kind of confinement! The wild morning glory vines and Asian Jasmine are about to swallow everything up!!
I could use a full time gardener!!! AND housekeeper!!!
There could be TWO of me and I still wouldn't be able to keep up!
But for tonight I have stopped and will soon be on my way to Quadville to finish up that movie Amber and I started yesterday. We DO love a good movie!!!

Awwww...that FB post is precious. I am sure that it puts a grin on Louis Dean's face. Yesterday was Father's Day and John heard from one...my daughter who brought him a six-pack of root beer and gave him a big hug. He was pleased.

Love seeing the quads with their dad! So darling.

Looks like your guys had a great Father's Day. That was so sweet what Amber wrote on her fb page and so sad that her father has left her. I know LD is the best replacement she could get. Hope his surgery goes well. We will be praying for him in Bible Study this morning. Those quads really lucked out with Mike and LD in their lives. P.S. I think Logan should take gymnastic lessons. She's good!

LInda, I loved your clips and photos of Father's Day. You are all a blessing to each other. I hate to hear that LD is suffering, bless his heart. I can see why he's ready for the surgery to be here and gone. I love your quilt. It's so unique. Blessings to all of you, love you, Susie

That post from Amber was precious. What a special thing it is when God provides relationships to fill the void of those missing or lost. Those little ones surely love him too!

What a cute picture of the men with the kids - so nice that Louis Dean has been such a good Stepfather to Amber. I really hope his surgery goes well - always scary but hopefully things will be much better for him afterwards.
