You Gotta Plow Your Own Corn!

That saying means we all have our own responsibilities in life.
No one has a corner on how difficult Life is.
Some are in the SPRING of life with all the newness that goes with that!
That would be these sweet babies all the way to adulthood!

Does it GET any sweeter than SPRING?

Babies and childhood and YOUTH!

Sweet! SWEET!!

Then there's the SUMMER!
Young adulthood and raising a family.

Sometimes if we are especially blessed -

you get to raise four at a time!

Then there is the FALL of life.
That's where I am now.

My Mother is in the Winter stage.
She knows it.
We ALL know what stage we are in.
Deanie took a video so the quads will be able to SEE their great grandma playing with them in time to come.
I hope Jesse and Summer get to have an opportunity to make one for their children to see.

That being said......we are all in the middle of LIVING right now!
WHATEVER stage that may be!!!
It is NOT a contest as to which stage is hardest!
Truly LIVING life at ANY stage is a challenge!

I am mindful of this as I sewed a hem in my mother's pajamas on a busy afternoon when I was doing MANY things!!!

Sewing the last quilt for the quads birthday.
This one is Harrison's.....need to add the pizazz!!
Pockets and bandannas!

I held watch over my husband - who is in the 'Winter' years - as he worked on our bathroom situation.
There was some wall damage behind the commode so he is preparing the piece of wood to fix that!
Husbands who are in the WINTER years deserve some extra attention!

Louis Dean just said to me.....
"You forget the heat of the summer but you remember the beauty of the spring."

"What season of life are you in? Are you experiencing a winter of discouragement blowing like an icy wind through your soul? Or do you feel the exuberance of spring renewal, the lazy warmth of summer rest? Perhaps the winds of change have brought an autumn of reflection in your heart."

Yes each season of life has a challenge of it's own. Loved this thought provoking post tonight. The blue row in Harrison's quilt seems to make the perfect flow. Can't wait to see the finished product. Love ya Sis.

What a great analogy on life! I've never heard it put that way before. I guess I'm in the summer right now, but headed for fall. I'm still raising kids, so that makes me a summer. LOL!

I guess by your definition I am a fall, but sometimes I feel like a winter! All the aches and pains of getting older. And we never really know when we will draw our last breath. This was a lovely post. Very thought provoking.

P.S. Love Harrison's quilt!

I'm in The Summer and although the days are chaotic and I'm exhausted most of the time, I surely don't want these days to pass by too quickly. I love how you classify life into stages & seasons, such a fantastic way to look at it. Hopefully my family is all blessed enough to reach the Winter Stages, each day we wake is truly a gift to be cherished.

Have a great holiday weekend my friend!

Linda, I know what you are saying with this post. I wish the young people could really grasp the meaning. I lost my mom at the age of 83...we all thought mom would live to be a hundred...she had spunk. I am hoping to hear Willard Scott wish me a happy 100th birthday and tell me how good I look. I do have a ways to go. ;) oxxo, Susie

Oh goodness. The plumbing problems are so yucky. Glad you discovered it and LD can fix it.

I guess I am in the fall of life and will be here for a while. I am content where I am and enjoying it, however, sometimes feeling a twinge of sadness because my DH has entered the winter and I would have liked to hold him with me in the fall for longer. Great post! As always, your pics are so good. Would love to know your secret there.

Beautiful post Linda. The babes are so cute and sure are growing!

Where am I at in life? That's a good question, I bounce around and age wise I'm in the fall, but emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually I am all over the place... mostly in the Spring of my life though which suits me just fine.

That's awesome LD is so handy, good on him for doing the work to fix up your problem in the bathroom. Gold star for you LD! :-)

I hope you have yourselves a fantastic weekend! I'm going to have a blast, no matter what comes my way. ;-)
