Louis Dean Likes to Play in the Mud!!

We sure do love our kittens.
Who knew they would bring us so much joy?

I was sitting up in bed with my coffee this morning and Tabitha was all lovey dovey.
But just as soon as Louis Dean walked in, she dropped me in an instant and was over there making eyes at him!!
Probably because she wanted him to rub her neck. She loves that!

We spend the mornings doing our usual routine -  but instead of watching news - Louis Dean is catching up on his old Gunsmoke episodes.
Then he puts on his work clothes and goes out to 'play.'

It's a big job out there!
The deck was so rotten he had to completely take it up.
He's installing a sump pump under what will be the new deck to keep the water from coming in the sewing room. Plus the pump will keep this area dry and prevent another rotten deck!

He's a hard worker!

He poured concrete into a form he built so he would have a pit for pump.
He made an indention for the electrical cord to lay in and he'll have a screen over the top so  trash won't go in it. He's pretty proud of himself tonight and I'm proud of him, too!
He's figuring things out as he goes so it's a one man kind of job.
One man and one supervisor! ME!

I stayed busy today cleaning.
Fresh sheets on our bed and in the guest room, too.
Tabitha thought I was fixing the bed up just for her!

She decided to claim the bed tray as her throne!

But Samantha came in and chased her off and then they decided to just stretch out.
When the AC is off, I open the back door and they can hear all the sounds of the neighborhood....
the young children playing in the back yard beyond ours,  guys talking together in the back yard of the house just behind us and to the right. Then there's all the wonderful sounds of the men working next door! Saws and drills and hammering and all kinds of exciting things!

It wasn't long before they were at the door listening intently to all the things going on outside.

They were so cute!
They both looked forward and then they would look over at one another and then they'd both face front again. I should have taken a video instead of trying to snap pictures of their 'conversation.'

So that's all that's been happening in my world today.
Looking forward to meeting a blog friend tomorrow.
I don't think Denise has ever blogged but she and I have been friends for several years.
I'm going to get up early to spruce up the rest of the house.
For now I am going to sew the red denim squares together for Louis Dean's birthday quilt and watch a Hamish McBeth while I'm doing it!

Joy turns ordinary into Extraordinary!

Oh, the bed is so pretty piled up with pillows!
The kitties look so precious at the storm door, checking outside. I see their cones are off.
Louis Dean is just amazing. Both of you are!

The kitties at the window having a conversation...too cute! That's a lot of work Louis Dean is up to. May the sump pump resolve all the troubles. Turning off the news is a very good idea. They're only lying anyway. 🤨 Have fun on your outing!

What a project Louis Dean has undertaken and single handedly, as usual. His skills are never ending, lucky you Linda. The kittens have really grown and seeing them together was cute especially those photos by the door, curious kitties for sure.. Your bedroom looks like a cozy retreat and we all need that these days. I don’t watch the news either like yourself and many others.

LD is indeed a hard worker and love how he can fix anything. The cats are cute and loved the picture of them standing looking out. I think when we are older we appreciate pets more. Have fun with your old friend.

Linda, Does LD work in his sleep, like dogs run while they sleep? That man can't sit still LOL. Gotta love that working man. :) The cats at the door, how very funny. Wishing you and LD a great weekend. It's going to be in the 70's here. Happy day. Blessings, stay safe. xoxo, love you guys, Susie

I certainly found joy and the common everyday ordinary of you showing us two cats enjoying the sounds the views and each other in conversation. That just made me feel total Joy watching them enjoy in life and the natural things in life. And everything they were having fun with didn't cost anything. Like laying on the fresh-made bed. We need to act like dogs and cats ourselves. I also enjoyed seeing LD playing in his backyard

Absolutely love seeing LD playing in the Mud.
Is there anything that man can't do??
You two are quite the team.
The photos of the kitties are priceless. I can literally hear their chatting and discussing the world beyond the screen door.
Fun post today.

So, for dinner, I'm sure LD fixed up a grand feast of mud pies? (lol...I couldn't resist after you posted he plays in the mud!) Looks like he has his project all worked out! Your bedroom & kitty scene is purr-ecious. Enjoy your meeting an online friend. I KNOW you'll bond the friendship even more.
