Celebrating Wednesday!

Any day you can have lunch with a good friend is a GOOD day!
I had planned to ask Brenda over for lunch on Thursday but decided to go with Wednesday instead.
While we usually have salads for lunch, I went with a potato soup since it was on the chilly side in Texas today.

I jazzed up a typical recipe with some frozen corn, minced onions, garlic butter (from Little Caesars!)  a dollop of sour cream and a chunk of cream cheese along with a handful of shredded cheese. I topped it with fresh crispy bacon bits and chives from the herb garden along with a bit more shredded cheese. It was really good.

I had the tea poured and the table set before Brenda arrived.

Brenda and I have been friends for over 30 years.
Friends are real treasures and I'm so grateful for Brenda.
We have seen each other through many a trial during these years and continue to hold one another up in prayer and encouragement.

After Brenda went back to her office, I started in on my housework.
I like to vacuum the entire house and do the odd and end cleaning job in each room and Wednesday is my day to do that.
While working in the den. I get the extra perk of watching the latest episode of Fixer Upper!
The next time we go to the ranch, I am going to make a side trip to Magnolia Market at the Silos and the Bakery!

An extra treat was having a fire since it remained chilly all day.
We haven't had as many fires this winter as I would have liked!

As always, candles are lit to celebrate CLEAN rooms and a wonderful day!

Tomorrow I will be packing and preparing to leave on our first ever 'all four of us sibling getaway!!!'
The 'all four of us' would be the siblings I grew up with:
Lloydine - 3 years younger than I
Lanita - 2 years younger than Lloydine
and Lonnie - 14 months younger than Lanita!!

Of course, you know them as Deanie and Nita but since I started writing this book I have reverted back to calling them their childhood names.
We will be leaving for San Antonio on Friday morning and brain storming our memories together for the book. I'm up to chapter 7 and working my way into chapter 8 now.
The main thing we will be doing is having FUN!!!

What a beautiful lunch. I love potatoo soup (tattie soup as we call it here in Scotland!) but in your usual wonderful way, you made it extra special for your friend. So glad that work is continuing on your book, and that the family are supportive of your work X
