Back Home!

We did the morning critter chores before packing up and heading for home.
We did take time to have one last old fashioned country breakfast of bacon and eggs.
The eggs were gathered fresh this morning and still warm in my hand when I picked them up.
Probably the freshest eggs I will ever eat!

Louis Dean loads the truck while I pack up our things.

I took this video first thing this morning. Love the sounds of the country!

We keep toiletries, towels and such, food staples and supplies here year round as well as a bit of clothing. We only pack fresh fruits and veggies plus refrigerator foods - both coming and going.
This was an easy trip since we left most everything here when we left last Monday knowing we would be back on Friday.

We aren't able to use our awning anymore, It's been damaged and every time we rolled it out, it just continued to tear in spite of all we could do to mend it. Due to the winds and storms here - our camper faces east so the north winds blow straight across it - Louis Dean is planning on building a cover for the deck. It will be kind of like a porch.

You can see the damage at the upper right in the photo.
After he gets a roof over the deck - he plans to screen it in or use the windows we already have.
We are planning on being down here more as time goes on.
This would give us an additional living space much like our gazebo does at home.
He hopes to start on it this spring.
We are grateful to Dean and Sherry for allowing us to 'expand our borders' on their property!!
We promise not to go past the deck!!! Of course, we could fence in an area and make a garden.....we wish! I'm really happy that we have this camper and get to spend time with Dean and Sherry and the critters. I probably love it more than Louis Dean does, to be honest. But he is the one that makes it happen and I love him for that!

We always mean to leave earlier than we do. It was 12:40 when we pulled through the gate.

It looks much like spring has already sprung down here!

Once again, we took the back roads home. This time we were successful!
From Mart to Waxahachie, we stayed on country roads and I loved it!
In March when we come back, we will come this way and take pictures of all the barns and vacated places along the route. Then in April, we will snap photos of the bluebonnets.
I'm hoping we get to go to the ranch every month if just for a couple of days.
It's wonderful to see the seasons change with every visit.

I received such a wonderful surprise when I opened our mail this afternoon!!!
My Facebook and blogging friend, Jackie, sent us this beautiful card!
It means so much to me!
The photo was taken by Amber in 2009 when we spent the month of December in Aberdeen, Scotland. We were standing on the shores of the North Sea.
Thank you, Jackie, for such a sweet and thoughtful gift!!
I will keep it and treasure it forever!!

I love the sunsets at the ranch and as I was going out to the gazebo this evening, I noticed such a beautiful sky! I need to look at the sunsets here at home more often!

Hope everyone enjoyed the Super Bowl!!
Louis Dean was glued to the set all evening.
I went next door for a little while to party with my neighbors, Stephanie and Mark.
They have the BEST back yard parties ever!! They not only have their gazebo, but they have a sofa, coffee table and TV AND chairs and tables and stools in their garage. PLUS they have a beautifully landscaped back yard. THREE extra living areas! The food was delicious! I didn't stay long because Louis Dean was bone tired. AND he said he would pause the game until I got back because he wanted to watch it with me. How romantic is that??

My favorite part of Super Bowls would be the commercials!!
Which was YOUR favorite???
Mine was Mr. Clean!!!
I think Louis Dean is getting a clue because I do believe he is looking around for a bucket full of cleaning supplies!!!

I love that pic of you and your guy. So sweet and you can just see the love you have for one another.

Mr. Clean was my fav, too, but I happen to have a thing for bald men. Well, my bald man, anyway. ;)

Yes, Phil watched the Super Bowl and I watched the commercials and halftime. Playing actual ball seems to ruin the rest of the show!! The roof and porch will be a big project! But lots of men are not really happy unless they are working on a project. So that is good for him! I cannot believe how green it is there! Your sunset is gorgeous! One of the prettiest I have ever seen! The sky is shooting oranges and pinks up into the air! This is a wonderful picture of you and Louis Dean! Jackie made you the perfect gift. I await the Bluebells!!! I will likely never see a real one, they are gorgeous and one of the best things about Texas!

We feel the same way about our country place Linda. We really do look forward to the weekends we spend there. I was pulling for the Falcons, being from Georgia but we will look forward to next year!!

A screened in porch will be perfect at the trailer!

Have a great week friend!

Linda, Proud of you and LD finding you way back home. :):) Oh I think a screened in porch would be most wonderful . But make a kick plate around the deck so the animals won't jump on the screen and rip it. You know I love those sky shots. The picture of you and LD is so nice, I love it. LD looks like a seafarer come home to claim his woman. :):) Blessings for a great new week. xoxo, Susie

That LD has to have a project. Watch it or you'll be moving to the country and only visiting your house in Irving.

I liked the Honda commercial where it showed old photos from yearbooks. And I love football so I would have sat there glued to the game with your hubby. Hope you don't mind! hehehe! Enjoy the week! Hugs, Diane

I couldn't watch...cable is too limited, but I was following along online. I loved the win not only because they are my team from my corner, but also because the symbolism of Patriots coming from behind and winning seems important just now.

You do love it down at the ranch. It looks beautifully green.
