Romantic Lighting.....

in a wine bottle! I have been seeing these for a couple of years now and am just now getting around to making myself one! The PROPER way would be to use a drill bit that is made for cutting glass and make a hole in the back side of the bottle then threading in a short strand of white lights. Since we do not have the proper drill bit and I decided I wanted my lights NOW....I simply dropped them down the open bottle neck and then covered the cord with raffia and grape clusters- sticking a few fall leaves in the hole when I was done and popping the screw lid on top! WELLA!! I have my wine bottle of lights!
This is a good way to use a 'collectible' bottle. I saved this particular one from our whirlwind trip to Alabama early this summer when we retrieved Amber's cats. After a long day on the road, Louis Dean bought this bottle of wine and some cold sandwiches for our supper that evening. We both thought the wine was good and the bottle pretty...so I saved it!

I am in a purging mode- believe it or not- but sometimes I want to add a new look to a familiar grouping. This is sitting on my kitchen counter and gives the area a soft glow on this September afternoon. Since nothings is glued down.....I am thinking I could change it out for the seasons. "Oh, GOOD!" Louis Dean says! "MORE debris!!"  But I think he really likes it!

This is gorgeous. I haven't seen these in Scotland - either that or I'm not frequenting posh enough places.

Very cool Mom! I love it - let's make some more together! I will bring the drill bit and see if we can do it.
