It's been a wonderful and relaxing weekend for us.
Dean and Sherry arrived late Friday night as Dean had a Karate event early the next miorning.
Alas, I was asleep when they arrived and they left before I got up.
No worries.....Louis Dean stayed up to visit with them for a few minutes.
Saturday was a lazy day for us as well as the cats!
Tabitha got out Friday afternoon but she came in before dark.
Every time I let my guard down when I come in or out of the house - there she goes!
My Knight in Shining Overalls is King of watering!
He's good at it and patient and our property is the better for it!
Just want to say that his being sleepy and groggy is not from medications....
although I HAVE been guilty of mixing up his medicine a time or two.
Filling prescription boxes for a month at a time for the two of us is not an easy thing to do.
I must have quiet and no interuptions.
No, his symptoms go along with his dementia and Alzheimers diagnosis.
I'm just grateful that he is doing as well as he is.
Confusion, grogginess, and what we call discombobulation is all part of the journey.
I grilled some chicken and cooked up some peppers and onions for dinner on Friday.....
Not only did we dine on them that night.....
This plate is mine.
We also ate the salad again on Saturday.
This is his. Note the heavy dressing.
I've been scheduling only one outing a day now.
Friday we drove to Grapevine to pick up my Bernia sewing machine.
As soon as I got home, I caught up on my mending pile starting with Logan's favorite sleep shirt from Italy.
Saturday was a home day and I loved every minute of it!
We meant to go to Home Depot to pick up top soil on Saturday but we went this Sunday afternoon instead.
15 bags of Texas top soil!
Louis Dean will be filling in around his ponds as well as our pecan trees.
He loaded up 12 bags by himself and the help we requested showed up for the last three bags and was kind enough to load all 15 bags into the back of the truck.
Kimmy gave this aquarium lamp that belonged to June to Louis Dean and he loves it!
He keeps it on all the time.
I'm still painting every day and will wind up and take down the art table on Tuesday in anticipation of Chandy and her family visiting us.
I'm really loving this painting and the texture of palette knife.
I feel like I'm growing in my art and I love that!
In other news.......
My son, Jesse, and Rachel flew to Venice for a romantic weekend.
Look what lovely food they had!
I loved following them on this adventure.
I most likely will never travel here so I am so happy that Jesse sent us so many photos on our family chat.

Looks like a beautiful trip for Jessie and Rachel. It seems she is a "keeper" and I am so glad they found each other. I know you missed your machine as you are always sewing something! It's a dying art but I am currently watching a show on Roku that is a sewing competition that is helping bring it back to England
Wow Venice, just for the weekend - what a treat for sure. I am so glad help did finally come to help your hubby with those heavy bags. He looks like he is doing great despite his tiredness! Hang in there. I have a thirty-year Bernina - a 1090 - they are great machines. Glad you have yours back home.
