Back in the day I would host a Good Friday Gathering with friends and family.
Or a celebration on Saturday.
And in even later years, an Easter Dinner after church.
Change is always happening and we can resist or embrace it.
I love all my good memories of Easter weekends of years past.
And to be truthful, I am more about embracing than resisting these days.
We drove out to McKinney to watch the Bell girls' hockey game.
I wish I could make every single game as I could see their progress in real time.
Alas, we can only make the daytime games as I can't drive after dark.
Easter Saturday morning Louis Dean and I had our first coffee time in the gazebo!
The last time was in October!
We are loving the spring season and this beautiful iris was a gift from our gardening neighbor, Tamara!
She also gave us seedlings of cucumber, squash, zucchini, and more.
God has blessed us with such good neighbors!
Louis Dean spent Saturday afternoon repairing the netting to the gazebo.
This pic squeezes my heart.
He tries his best to do things that make me happy.
Kind of out of order but this is Louis Dean's creative solution to storing a super long garden hose!
I love how he thinks out of the box!
Saturday afternoon we were at Valley Ranch watching Harrison playing a Dallas Stars Elite
scrimmage game.
Easter Sunday and we watched Fellowship online.
Not our normal Easter weekend but we celebrated our risen Saviour!
The Bells came by for a visit this Easter afternoon and Mike gave us the Easter ham bone!
I love it when the quads come to visit!
They remember all the good times they had when they were young and spent so much time here with us. I love how they come in and make themselves at home.
I bought an automatic feeder for my cats and Kailey set it all up for me.
She even set up the app on my phone.
SO smart!!
I love that the Bells visited us and am thankful for Harrison and Mike in helping us put the new rug down in the gazebo and put all the chairs, bench, fridge, microwave, and tables back in place.
I will post pics of or spring and summer gazebo on Tuesday!
Amber brought the edits to chapter 14 today and I am so grateful for her expertise.
She is making all the difference in my book,
Thank you, my dear daughter and editor.

The girls & Harrison are pretty much all grown up! I still remember when they were so little and they came over and you all did such fun things. I have never seen an Iris this shade of blue; it is gorgeous!
So glad you had a good Easter weekend. That's awesome that LD does all those things. He's a jack of all trades around there.
It looks like a fun and family filled weekend to celebrate Easter. Everyone had smiles and memories were made....so happy it was good for both of you!
I remember when the girls and Harrison were being born! Wow. Glad you had a nice Easter.
Celebrating our Risen savior is what it’s all about! Glad you had some family time too! You are right to go with the flow of things instead of holding on tight and rigidly to tradition! That way you are able to enjoy what is, as well as what used to be!
Love you Firend!

Dear Linda, sometimes simpler is better, and I'm learning to "embrace" things in our life I can't change. You are such a inspiration. The pictures you captures of your darling husband just melt my heart. What a precious man. We had a simpler Easter this year with Michel's family and some grands and great grands. We came home early as I don't drive the freeways at night. Loving you and looking forward to seeing all the new looks you give old things. Hugs..HaHa that last sentence reminds me of me!!!
Love your blog❤️
My heart if full just reading your post. Family that surrounds you and Louis Dean with so much Love and Kindness warms me all over.
Change can be difficult but I'm glad to see you embrace it.
LD sure is your Knight in Shining Overalls. Love him to pieces.
(((hugs)))

Linda, I love hearing the Bell kids yell bye as they leave. What a cute tradition. I don't know what Amber is feeding those kids but my gosh they are tall. But hey, I feel like a kid myself next to my grands. Everyone is becoming taller. LOL Hug LD for me. Love you guys, Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
I also have read every post on your wonderful blog. One picture that stands out in my mind, is that picture of that table that was built for all four babies to eat. Another favorite post was you letting them have things or explore things that are not by todays standards ok. It was the pins and needles in your sewing room...you said they didnt drop a one and put them in the pin cushion. Respect and trust you have shown them from day one. Oh and lol never ever wake up Grandma! Dee
Such a wonderful family time...all the time around your home and with your sweet family. You are truly blessed to have them so close to you. I love seeing all the things you all do together. You make memories everytime you are together. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You always make us smile and give us new appreciation for the ways God works all things together for our good...
