Dessert For Breakfast and Mother Has Visitors!

Mother has been fitting in very nicely here and I think she has enjoyed herself!

Louis Dean got up before I did and turned the coffee on.
Mother must have smelled it because she was in the kitchen sitting next to the pot when I got up!
She would drink a cup and then fill it up again!
After she had inhaled two cups, she took the third into the den with her and joined Louis Dean in watching the news. They both like the same news programs - OAN and Fox!

We had dessert for breakfast this morning!
Strawberry Shortcake but we used Louis Dean's biscuits instead of the shortcake!
Delicious!

We had another easy going day and I could get used to these.

The news was on most of the day and Mother fell asleep listening to it!

I made another dessert - they are called Cheesecake Squares in this book but I know them as Neiman Marcus Bars! That is an appropriate name since they are so RICH!!!!

They turned out beautifully!!
I have a doctor appointment tomorrow and it is my habit to take goodies with me when I go!
I have the bags all ready and by the door.
Two containers of NM Bars and a bag of Texas Trash!

This afternoon Summer came over for a visit after she got off work.
She and I sat in my bedroom catching up and making plans before she went in to see her Granny!

That's what nearly EVERYONE calls my mother! GRANNY!!!
ALL the grandchildren call her that EXCEPT for Amber and Benjamin and they named her GRANDMA!!! That's what I wanted to be called!!! But I love being a MiMi, Bella and MeeMaw even MORE!!!

Three generations right here!

Summer left to pick Sabrina and Rayne up at the airport where they just arrived from Puerto Rico!
They even stopped and picked up Chick Fil A for dinner for everyone!
We had a GREAT time visiting and laughing!

FOUR generations!

For fun we always do one of these!!!
Hands under our chins!

Rayne LOVES Knock Knock jokes!!!
It was fun getting to see Summer, Sabrina and Rayne!
Welcome HOME!

Louis Dean and Mother are out in the den glued to the TV and Iowa Caucus!
The results are now in!
Mother and Louis Dean are of two different parties but they have stayed friendly with each other throughout the evening!!

I have the coffee ready for Louis Dean to turn on in the morning.
There is no way Mother could figure out how to do it!
First of all - you have to know to slide your hand down and in a little on the left hand side of the coffee cart to flip on the power strip. That alone would stump nearly everyone!
Then you have to hit the 'grinder' switch so it won't sound like a cement mixer when you push the ON button! We used to use fresh beans but now we just buy Folgers already ground.
My pot is the small one because I only drink 'lady' coffee - you know, the gourmet flavored kinds!
I have literally HUNDREDS of coffee cups so every morning I have set out three different ones for us to use! Mother's is in the middle!

Lots of happy faces there!!

I'll bet all the folks at your doctor's office love to see your name on the appointment books! That is a thoughtful thing to do.

Love how your mama drinks her coffee...guzzling it down. I can relate some days! :)

I'm just smiling from ear to ear reading your post. Your mom is such a cutie and you are the best daughter ever. Love the different coffee cups. We have a lot of mugs too. In fact, I bought Don a new one on my weekend with the girls.

Loved the pictures of your "girls"....how sweet.

Love the generation photos best today!!! And as for politics, Bud and I are always for the different parties and we've been married for nearly 50 years. That says something. LOL except our votes count each other out.

Linda, Your mom sure looks good. She enjoys being with all of you. I could tell she love Summer . Tell Rayne I liked her joke. So cute. She's growing up too. I truly wish each candidate had to send a list of, where they stand on every major issue in the U.S.A , to each of us...and then we would not have to listen to all the blah-blah-blah on TV. LOL Blessings to all at your house, love you, xoxo,Susie

You have such a beautiful family! I'm so happy that your mother is enjoying her stay with you! Louis Dean is a good man, and son in law! My dad was like that with my mom's mom, too.

Have a wonderful day, Linda!
