I love a good Monday and always have!
The week is fresh and new and stretching out in front of us.
Today was an especially good one since I didn't have to leave the house!
I didn't even change out of my 'Crazy Cat Lady' sleep shirt until nearly 4:00.
Louis Dean did a grocery store run - which he calls 'going for supplies.'
I love that!
Other than that errand - and he filled the car up with gas - the car with no AC working right now! -
the only other thing he's done is watch a little bit of news this morning and a couple of Daniel Boone programs......and the rest of the day he has played quietly in his room. That means he's been working on his music. The ladies at the nursing home have requested Marty Robbins songs and he has been practicing ninety to nothing to get some ready for our visit this this week.
Meanwhile - I have been doing laundry, cleaning and decorating.
This little display is where we had our microwave - years ago!
Behind that denim curtain lives cake pans and electric knife sets and pie plates.
Someday we are going to finish this opening out and put in some shelves. Someday.....
Until then, I will decorate in front of the curtain.
I told y'all - I am the Queen of Cover Up!
The dining room is all dressed for Fall.
I have had these place mats for over 35 years.
They are beginning to show their age and yet I continue to use them for 10 weeks every year!
I haven't set out the silverware since we will not be using the table until October.
I will have to wash the dishes and stemware by then!
Right now this is my favorite corner of the living room.
My old school stereo is playing 5 Cd's of some of my favorite music for this time of year.
That LoonSong is probably my favorite!
My favorite spot in the foyer.......
and in the den.....
I know it's a little much but I love it all!
I found this friend down in San Antonio when Deanie and I took our first Sibling Trip together.
Depending on where I put him - he can startle me.
This is a safe place for him.
So tonight I made another Crack Cake using French Vanilla cake mix and Pistachio pudding.
I sent Louis Dean to the store to get a variety of cake and pudding mixes.
He only got pistachio pudding!
He said he really liked the cake I made with it and was afraid I would change it up!
So.....I cut myself a slice warm from the oven and made a drink of Strawberry Bellini wine, a few chunks of mango and a big fat red strawberry - some ice cubes and a big dose of Diet 7 Up!
I decided to eat dessert first this evening.
Not sure what we will have for supper!
But I know what we will have tomorrow night!
We are taking dinner over to Quadville.......
I already made the Company Mashed Potatoes - rich with butter, sour cream and cream cheese.
I added grated cheese and fresh herbs from my garden.
I also made candied carrots.
This is my very old and most favorite vegetable peeler and paring knife.
I have had them for more years than I can count.
My blogging spot today.
I say 'today' because I have been sitting down for a few minutes adding words and photos all day long. I'm supposing that will mean I can post this journal entry long before midnight......
so before I do, I would like to ask for your prayers on behalf of a very special little girl.
I call her Baby Leah.
She's three and a half and was born with some problems with her left leg.
Leah has been a frequent guest at the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.....
and they have done some amazing things for her.
However, the problem is so serious that she is scheduled for surgery at 8:00 in the morning to have her leg amputated. Please - if you are a praying person - join me in prayer for this precious little girl.
She is as close to Sabrina and her family as she can possibly be and they are all standing vigil in prayer and support of her now. Sabrina is far away but her prayers will be just as powerful from Puerto Rico as if she were standing outside the OR door.
I'll be taking my laptop with me to Quadville tomorrow and will post an update as soon as I get one.
I remember how much all the prayers meant to us when we nearly lost Harrison when he was just 10 days old and then two years ago when Kailey had open heart surgery.
"Dear God, we put Baby Leah in your loving arms and ask that you bless the surgeons and all those in the operating room tomorrow morning as they do what they need to do. Guide them - each one - as they work. I ask that the Holy Spirit be very real to Baby Leah and calm her spirit and keep her from being afraid. I ask that you comfort and be near all the family as they surrender this precious child to the medical team. Keep their hearts strong. Help them to all encourage and comfort each other and that a sweet spirit of unity will knit all their hearts together in love as they wait. We ask all this in Jesus' name. Amen......"

Prayed along with you, friend! I love seeing all your fall decor. Louis Dean is sweet to prepare songs that the ladies will enjoy.
YES, I am praying for her tonight! And for strength for her parents. Your home looks like a fancy fall boutique shop! Where everything is all about fall and expensive. I could just wander around it all day!
I just prayed for Leah, and will continue tomorrow.
Your day sounded busy. Love all your fall decorations! I’m waiting as long as I can. I love fall but don’t look forward to winter. But if it goes as fast as this summer has gone it won’t seem to bad! Ha!
Blessings,
Gert
Praying for Leah and again and again...

Praying for Leah and her family!
Have prayed for Leah along with so many! I know God will be with her!
The pound cake looks and sounds so very good.
Have fun at Quadville! (How can you not!?)
Amen. Precious prayer for sweet Leah and I joined you and the others in it.
Oh my! I have been hearing about this crack cake... Sounds dangerous!
Scottish Rite Hospitals are the best....II know it is hard to see a little one have to undergo such serious surgery. That is funny about LD buying only pistachio pudding mix. He knew what he wanted!! I went to Dollar Tree yesterday and could not resist adding a cute little pumpkin to my purchases. I am ready for fall.
Sending prayers for Leah. Oh my, those mashed potatoes. They look so delicious. Must try making them that way. I adore your fall decorating. Got mine out yesterday and plan on starting today, but it's not as elaborate as yours. I just don't have any storage space for much here.
We are holding Leah in our prayers....no child should feel pain.....your home is lovely and invting Linda...beautiful post! Sending hugs!
Have prayed with you for Baby Leah, Linda, and will continue to pray.
I love your fall decorations, and you did motivate me to get started yesterday, I put one box of decorations out and will do more today.~wink~
I love pajama days too.
Have a blessed day. look for the updates.

What a precious little girl. It hurts my heart to think about what lies ahead of her... so, yes, prayers from me for her and her family.
Will be praying for a successful surgery and healing for that sweet little one. Glad you got a day at home to enjoy. Your home certainly shows your tender loving care. Labor day will soon be here and I'll be busy decorating for fall then. Summer weather is still here and it makes it hard to believe fall is coming, but it is.
Hope you have a wonderful day at quadville. Those company potatoes look delicious!
I will send up a prayer too - that will be hard for Leah -so we have to pray for strength afterwards.
Did you make all that food for two? You are amazing. Hey cake first with a Bellini - love the idea.

I am praying for this beautiful little girl. I'll read your prayer again too. Sweet hugs, Diane
I prayed your prayer for her and my heart hurts for this beautiful child and her sister and parents and all the friends and family. she is so beautiful, Lord please protect your beautiful little girl... your house is ready for Sept 1.. sunflower heaven... you go LD learning new songs for your lady friends.
I enjoy your décor when you do close ups...I get overwhelmed at the big picture:) Will pray for your sweet friend. I think it is awesome that the ladies have requests and am sure it is just the motivation LD needs to learn some new songs. Have a good time with the family tomorrow and the casserole looks great.
Prayers will definitely be said <3 Thanks for sharing this post! I love all of your fall decorations (I can't wait to decorate for fall too!!). :)

Your fall décor is all so festive and lovely, and what a wonderful cozy spot you have for blogging.
I will absolutely be praying for precious Leah. Oh, my heart goes out to her and her family at this time. Your prayer touched my heart.
Blessings to you & Praying for Leah, Net
Amen. Praying for dear Baby Leah.
Prayed the heartfelt prayer that you wrote and will pray again and again.
Just prayed for Leah. God bless you!
Linda, Prayers for Leah. Hard to think of children suffering. Enjoy your time with the quads. So sweet to get hugs and kisses from our little ones. I love your fall décor. Linda, I hide thing here also. I should just throw it out or donate...because once I hide it or never get it out...do I truly need it any longer? That cake looks so yummy. I swear I may have to make one. Or at least some apple crisp. LOL Your crazy cat night shirt would fit two of my daughters. LOL. They love cats so much. I gave my Kathy a fake cat ...so she could have one in her apartment. :):) Blessings to you Linda, you are truly a beautiful lady inside and out. Love you, xoxo, Susie
How sad for Leah. Prayers winging her way from NZ. Will have to look up the Loon Song - new one for me. Til next time.
