Celebrating Summer's Birthday!

We love celebrations!

While Summer's birthday is October 26......we celebrated together on the 21st!
I used a few of my golden leaves and acorns to decorate her gift!

We met up at The Shell Shack in Mesquite for dinner and a movie.

While we would have loved for Amber and Jesse to have been there with us,
it's so HARD to get everyone together at the same time!

I was one happy mama to have my last born, Benjamin, with me as we celebrated my FIRST born!

The food was delicious and it was a sweet sweet thing to have two of my kids together!

Ben had the catfish and Sabrina put a THIRD piece on top of this and he ate it ALL!

Summer dearly loves crab and my favorite is the fried shrimp.
The AMC movie theater was just a minute or two down the street from the restaurant.

My handsome 28 year old son.
The son of my old age......I was one month shy of my 40th birthday when he was born.

THIS is my favorite pic of the night and also my favorite moment.
I could feel my heart squeeze in thanksgiving as I took this photo.
The daughter of my youth.......I was one month past my 15th birthday when she was born.
When Ben is 30, I will be 70 years old and Summer will be 55!

I do so love these two precious people!!

To know either one of them is to love them and everybody does!
Don't let Summer's smiling face fool you, though.
She has been and was last night still in a great deal of pain.
Hopefully she will get to have some injections next week which will greatly help.
She continues to be on short term disability and every single step she takes is painful.
Sitting is painful, Bless her heart, she was bound and determined to CELEBRATE no matter what!!!

And so we did!!!
The movie was great!

I'm already making plans for a gathering of all four of my children so we can celebrate Ben's birthday which was in August!! We haven't forgotten - he's just been super busy.
It's a job to find a time for all four of my children to get together and nearly impossible to find a time for all four of them PLUS their families!
Summer and I are thinking Casa Verde and and another movie night early in November.
Better late than never!!

Nita posted this on her Facebook page and I can so relate!
Last night I was 'fixed up.'
Right now I look homeless.
We are about to load up and head down to our camper for a few days with Grandson Robert.
Louis Dean is about ready so I need to get in there and fix my face!
Every morning when I wake up, I find it's broken again!!!

Mom, thanks for coming and it was so good to see you and Ben. Sorry I was not feeling to hot. Praying those injections will work and I can have my life back. Ben looks great and was medicine for my soul. Love you Momma!

This is such a fun post. I love reading about Summer. Have your ever written about the reason for the wide age gap among your children? I'm looking forward to reading about your time in the country.

So nice to have two of your kids in one spot! I am sure the night out lifted Summer's spirits just a little bit!

Happy Birthday to both these wonderful kiddos! They are always "the kids" aren't they? No wonder your heart swelled with that photo...it is precious and should be framed on the gallery wall.

I am sorry that Summer is still in pain. She puts on a good face and one would not know. Praying for her to be pain free very soon.

You and Louis Dean have a great time at the ranch. (I am finding it hard to believe that your beautiful face is ever broken!)

Your son is so cute!! I see he and Summer both have the same charming dimples! You were just a baby when you had Summer! So you two can kind of get old together! Oh, her poor back!!!

Linda, You sure did stretch your family out. LOL. The kids and you look so good. Summer is a strong good person. I think she gives her all in life and is going to find joy when she can. ..no matter how she feels. I want to wish her Happy Birthday. Hope you and LD have a great time with Robert. He's a good kid. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, Susie

Linda- God bless your daughter as she deals with all that pain. I hope she can get some relief soon. I love that you had the two kiddos together. Mine are spread out, too, but only over 11 years. My oldest was 8 when the next one was born and then I had three kids in less than 4 years. It was a zoo...lol

Have fun at your camper. I know you will..relax and enjoy this perfect fall. xo Diana

Everything from the golden leaves on her present to that beautiful smile made it a wonderful day! Oh! That seafood!)
I didn't know Ben was in town and I know you were glad to see him. (He is so stinkin' cute!)
You've got some lovely children there, and I know it was not just "Summer-time" , but also family time. The greatest gift a mom could have. Ben and Summer's constant smiles must have made your day, Linda!
Have a wonderful weekend in the country...I know you will make things just that way!

Happy Birthday to Summer and Ben! Hope that her pain will improve quickly with the injections. They have helped my son-in-law quite a bit.

You are rich beyond belief with your family. I've always loved Summer, she is smiling in every pic you post and I know that comes quite naturally from her. I pray she gets well...she's precious. Happy Birthday, Summer!!!

Your son is a doll, very handsome. Celebrate his 28 years 'young'. You are an amazing lady...think of the lives you put on this earth, very young and hard for you I have to think. And then older and when most women doubt they can conceive!

Thanks for your comment on my list post. You are always the Real Deal, dear!

Jane
