A Gathering of Angels

Sewing Angels!
After taking the snowmen and all the Christmas things from the sewing room -
I decided to go with some angels.

I have several crib quilts to make this winter.
This one is black and white and I am using a quilted black backing - thanks to my sister!
Her husband has a booth at 'Juntique Alley' and she often gifts me with some of their 'loot.' She gave me a whole BOLT!

This is the first of three quilts for soon to arrive triplets!
Two girls and a boy. This one - even though it is black and white - will be for one of the girls. I am going to add some pinkish binding.....I think! It has a few girly squares scattered throughout it and I appliqued three or four hearts on some of the white blocks. It will make a sturdy play pallet for many years to come.

My son and daughter in law gave us this vintage Duncan Phyfe table a few years ago.
In the winter I usually have it loaded with plants. This year I put them on Lucy's kennel.
The only dog in town with a landscaped kennel top!
This table makes a good work space for cutting out patterns and doing my projects.
I am planning on painting it at some point in the future.
Also Joy at aVintage Green! SO much talent out there in Blogland!

Our dining room is back to normal and looks a little vacant.

I am amazed how I ever got all that EXTRA stuff in here!!

The tree is down and my easel is back in place.
In another week or so I hope to be back to my Tuesday Art Routine!

It seems so late tonight.......and yet it's only 6:00!
I think an early bedtime would be just the thing tonight.
Louis Dean was 'playing' in the back yard today.
He is really turning a play fort into a storage area.
A stack of plywood fell over on him and pinned his leg under it.
I was glad I had the doors all open and could hear him calling for me.
I had to get a 2 X 4 and pry the stack of wood up so he could get his leg out.
He scraped it up pretty bad but we had a good assortment of first aid ointments and bandages. Lunch and a nap followed.....he was shaken up more than he was seriously hurt. STILL! I will be taking Mother to the beauty shop tomorrow so he has to play INSIDE til I get home!
I KNOW!!!! That means a ton of damage control for me when I DO get home!
But I can't take any chances!
Men!!! What would they do if they didn't have a woman to watch after them?

I love handmade quilts. My grandmother made me one years ago and I still have it. They are so special and make the perfect gifts.

Glad LD was okay. Shew, that man is forever getting himself into something. I can't wait to see his finished project. Your right, our fellas wouldn't know what to do without us.

Hope you all have a nice, drama free evening & get some extra rest.

Oh dear, I hope that LD heals quickly. All that lumber falling on his leg was nasty, so very fortunate that you were able to pry it up to free him (and that you could hear him calling. Keep a close eye on his legs (feel for unusual heat).

Thank you so much for mentioning my blog on your post today. What a sweet surprise.

Love you quilt project.

Oh that sounds kinda scary all the way around. So glad that he wasn't seriously hurt. A nap helps calm the nerves. I'd have been a wreck.

Your home is just about the dearest place. It looks like cozy comfort to the 10th power.

Those fellows sure can get into trouble when they get going! I'm glad that LD is alright and not suffering too much.

Ouch and oops, I'm glad to hear LD is alright besides being banged up a bit. Never a dull moment in your world!

You're house is so cozy and homey, it looks so comfortable and you are so creative. I love your projects, the quilts are fantastic as are the angels.

Have a wonderful day Linda!

My goodness Linda! You had quite a day! Thanks so much for the shout-out about me inspiring you to do some painting. That was so sweet. I tell ya, if I inspired you, then it's only because others (including my sister) have inspired me first! Ha! That's what I love about blogging. The friendships we make and the inspiration we receive. So glad that Louis Dean was able to be rescued by you! That could've had a much different outcome if you weren't around. Scary! Can't wait to see the quilt in its finished state once you're done. I'm sure it will get a lot of use!

Triplets!!!!! Wow!!! :-)

Only you my Dear, could think that your pretty dining room, looks a little vacant. :-)

Oh your photos! They are so warm and inviting, I want to "pop right into them." Like Mary Poppins and the children "popped into" Burt's sidewalk drawings. !!!!!

OH NO! LD hurt himself again. -sigh- -tsk, tsk, tsk- He had betttttter "play inside" while you are out tomorrow morning!!!!!!! Or "Auntie" might just hop-on-her-broom and zip right down there, and "give-him-what-for"!!!!!!!!!!! -sigh- -worry, worry, worry-

Yes, it seems later in the day, some days to me too. I understand!!!

We cannot cure the world of sorrows,
but we can choose to live in joy."
