January Family Get Together!

We have been looking forward to Louis Dean's granddaughter, Chandy's visit with her husband and three of four of their children. They live on a country property outside Snyder, Texas and have farm animals and responsibilites so they can't get away often and then for a very short period of time.

They left at 9:30 Saturday morning and arrived at 1:30 that afternoon!

Chandy played a lot of music with Grandad!

She is exellent on the autoharp!

Great-grandson Piercyn played guitar with him.

Grandad gifted him one of his guitars a few years ago and he is still learning to play it.

Great-granddaughter Bella.....

I made a HUGE pot of taco soup and and Piercyn absolutely LOVED it.

Bella is 7 years old and Jaxon Dean is 4.

Piercyn is such a good brother to these two younger siblings.

The last time we saw Jaxon he was not even talking much yet.

Jaxon is a worker and decided he neededto clean the snow off the deck so I would not slip and fall!

Jaxon is his daddy's Mini Me!!

We ate, worked puzzles.....

played games, had music and a lot of visiting!

Love hearing Chandy play spoons!

It was SUCH a good day!

Lots of hugs!

And smiles all around!

Louis Dean loved every minute they were here on Saturday!

Chris is always looking for some way to help and that night he fixed our back door to the bedroom so it will lock!

Chris is a younger version of Louis Dean!
He is a really good man!

The day slipped by and before we knew it - they had to load up and drive to Chandy's best friend's house to spend the night.

They came back on Sunday morning!
A BONUS visit!!

While the others visited, the boys helped me make brunch!
Piercyn was my sous chef and Jaxon my helper!

Everyone loved this breakfast casserole.....

and bacon. Half is regular and half is million dollar bacon - topped with mustard and brown sugar.

Both boys helped with the fruit salad.
Jaxon peeled the bananas for me.
After the fruit was all cut up, I told them we would now add the 'magic ingredients!'
I asked Jaxon if he knew what that meant and he said, "They means when add something that makes it taste even better!" He's so smart!

Look how cute they are!

We sat at the table visiting for a good while and I loved that!
I wish everyone could meet Chandy!
She makes every conversation a fun one and told us about a black slick fancy SUV parked in front of their house. She went out to see who it was and what they wanted.
Now Chandy has a good 40+ ducks and this guy ashed her if she wanted four ducks?
Thinking he was trying to find a 'home' for them - she said, "Sure!"
Imagine her surprise when he pulled out heavy bags of ducks - DEAD ducks!!!
She tells the story so well and we were all laughing!
I asked her what she did with the ducks and she said, "We threw them in the freezer!"

What a beautiful weekend we had with family!

The children are so precious and were such a delight!
Piercyn requested taco soup to take home!
Plus I had a tin of mincemeat crescents and he took home a bag full of them.

The biggest blessing was the time Piercyn and I had together.
We were talking about sin and heaven and salvation and befor they left on Saturday night he had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He shared the news with the others over brunch this morning.
Looking forward to him perhaps visiting us this summer.

We are still basking in the glow of being with them!
