The Den is Looking Christmasy!!

Today we had Frontier out to put in our new Internet!
Our Spectrum was so slow - the modem was in the sewing room and the signal was weak by the time it reached the den that it was hard to stay connected in order to watch a program.
Summer stayed here while  I went to work at the Book Fair and I really appreciate her help.
She told them we really needed the modem in the den since that's where we use the Internet most.
They agreed - even though the construction crew had already put cable in the back yard!
Thanks to Summer, plans changed and I am loving the new service!!

I got home at 4:00 and went right to bed for a nap before going out to the den to work.

It's still a work in progress and I keep changing things.....

Cleaning the mirrors really does make a difference!

Summer restrung the tree lights on this one.
I haven't decided how to decorate this one yet...all red or hang the Santa ornaments I've collected over the years?

Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime!
Internet works like a charm!

So far I have worked in the den and the kitchen and will be finishing both rooms by the end of the weekend.

Then I'll move on to the foyer and living room and since I already have angels in the foyer - I may focus on that theme and use the nativity collections in there.
Step by step! Room by room!!

We had another fire log tonight and that will be the last one untill it is truly fireplace weather!

Dinner was Caesar salad....

and pasta with pumpkin sauce from Trader Joe's.
I used a pound of ground turkey instead of beef and it was pretty good!

It's not yet midnight so I am going to close and finish watching The Professionals with Louis Dean.

Lee Marvin and Burt Lancaster, Jack Palance and Ralph Bellamy all star in this 1966 western!

Glad you're internet is working well. It's frustrating when you have a slow connection.
Your den is looking festive. Whichever way you choose to decorate the tree I'm sure it will look amazing.

yay for faster internet! it is always shocking to me, that simply cleaning the mirrors and any glass in a room makes it shine and look so much better. have fun changing things up, and its all beginning to look like Linda's Christmas House... I am still trying to muster up the guts to tackle putting lights on a 17 inch tree and a 20 inch tree. ha ha

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." Very pretty everywhere you go! You are so creative! And I am happy for you to have faster internet now. I can imagine how frustrating it would be to not have it. When ours goes down for a minute or two we act like we don't know what to do for ourselves! LOL. (Although I can usually find something...go outside and watch the birds or something! LOL). Enjoy your decorating, but take your time and give yourself time to rest in between rooms. I'm still trying to figure out whether or not to put out the Pilgrims and the turkeys ! The local family will be here for Thanksgiving, so we leave things all fallish until after that is over. Since Thanksgiving is so late this year, I will have to rush to get ready for Christmas afterwards. But it'll all happen in due time. The main thing is just to enjoy whatever season it is and who you are with! (((hugs))) I wish I could come and visit your house for Christmas and take it all in!!!

Hello Sweet Linda. I've been reading your posts, but haven't commented for some time. Sorry...but I think I'm back. Have lots to share and some good news on my health issue. I haven't even thought of Christmas decorations, and look at you.....already looking so festive. I will start after Thanksgiving. Slower than I used to be.
We love old Westerns too. Found out we will be getting great grandbaby #5 in May...lot's going on!! Sending love and prayers.

Loving the den! Got home this morning from a week in San Antonio - OMG the traffic was horrendous. But, the visit with my grandson was fantastic! We did a little sightseeing, shopping, lots of eating, but my favorite was just watching him. Shed some tears several times, but he is doing so well. Cannot mention where he goes next, but I'm so proud!! Have to go grocery shopping this afternoon and wash clothes. The usual. Not sure how much Christmas decor I'll do this year, may downsize a bit, looking for a new (to me) tree for the front porch, but it has to be a small one. Will try to get to a thrift store this week and see what I can come up with. I have 2 for my planters, but think I want one for the table as I won't be putting up things along the sidewalk or lighting the dogwood tree this year. Can't wait for my Christmas card - will frame it just like the others!!!!

Beautiful Linda! I always get the holiday spirit when I get to visit your home. I know Book Fair is one of your favorite events and so nice of Summer to help out with the house! Branson starts the holidays early and we are excited. I think we will experience the Comedy Bus Tour of Lights, they say its a lot of fun and the bus is warm! Stay in touch, take care of each other, and come and see us anytime! The bunk room sleeps 6!! ~jackie~
