Rainy Wednesday and Windy Thursday

We are so glad we came down to the ranch on Tuesday before the rains came in!
It rained all night Tuesday and all day and half the night Wednesday!

The ducks and geese love this weather!
Dean took this photo Wednesday when he was out doing critter chores.

I love a rainy day!
Good weather to linger long in bed and stay in warm pajamas and a fuzzy robe!
Read books and watch programs.

We stayed inside where it was dry and warm!
Dean still had to get out in the weather and take care of all the critters.

Dean took his truck up to where the gravel starts so he could get out Wednesday evening and teach his Karate class.

We watched from our windows.

It's still a little like camping down here - which is what we like - but we have stayed comfortable with our heaters. We could use propane in the camper for heating but we haven't yet.
The top heater is an electric one Summer gave us and keeps the entire camper warm.

The little fireplace heater is more decorative than functual but you can feel the warmth if you sit right in front of it.

Finally, the best heater of all!
The Dearborn in the bathroom.
Put all these together and we are good!
I even leave the camper door open to the front room most of the day so both are equally heated.

It's kind of fun to sit in front of the heater in the bathroom and have our evening wine!
This was last night......
Today the rain has gone and the wind's been blowing!
This will dry things out pretty fast!

This is Ruger.
Look how he has grown!

I've spent most of this cold windy day all nestled in the girl bunk reading.
Louis Dean worked on a couple of projects out in the front room.
He put up a light for me over the table so I can see to do art.
Not that I've done any. My art tub is still in the back of the truck.
Maybe he will bring it in for me tomorrow.
I did open up the book I'm writing and read over the last couple of chapters.
I'm hoping to wind up Part I this winter and I do believe Part II won't take nearly as long to write.
I just need to DO it!

Sherry cooked a batch of pinto beans and cornbread and brought supper down tonight.
We had the very best time eating together and then visiting.
When they left, Louis Dean said, "THIS is what I love about being here! Spending time together and talking." It reminds him of all the times he and Ellen would visit her parents, Ruby Nell and Jerl.
Such good memories.

We are going to bed with happy hearts tonight!

Your heaters look really nice, and this is so cozy and comforting. I love Louis Dean's photos! Especially the one with the geese in it. I hope you get to stay a good amount of time now.

Everything looks wonderful. I love the hand heart. Be careful with space heaters - they can be dangerous. All we have had was rain - it is good for ducks - but I have had enough.

RUGER IS GORGEOUS!! Love that first picture too, cute! Also like those ones by Dean, very misty/rainy good captures. So glad you're resting up and being nice and cozy, and putting those feet up, will do you good! Those lil heaters must be doing a great job for y'all. I love a day like that. We are in Fl and it is COLD and RAINY here for the day. No fireplace or heater here but we do have a furnace--which is snapped on. I am going to read today and have a 'do nothing' kind of day--it'll be perfect. Hugs- Diana

Linda, this post really warms my heart.
I love hearing your chuckle and LD's toast to you with the rain falling in the background.
You have the best of both worlds.
Enjoy your time, resting, writing and just enjoying life.

So good to hear you are resting, dry and toasty! It was nice of Sherry to bring food and visit.
You don't have to do anything but lounge around down there, and you deserve this break from all you have been doing. Read, paint, watch movies, eat and nap!
We got 4" of snow yesterday and it's in the 30s, but it'll be gone soon. We got what supplies we needed early, so we've stayed in and watched the flakes and the birds out there!
Hope it dries out at the ranch soon! Take care!💕🙏

Space heaters, fuzzy robes and warm pj's, a good book, a place to snuggle...are you in Heaven?? Oh no, you are at your heavenly ranch.

Love the pictures, I pretend I'm there with you. Scoot over, Linda, I need to snuggle with you.

Thanks for your faithful visits, and your prayers and love. We see God's grace every day. We deserve nothing, but he lavishes us with every good thing. What a Heavenly Father.

Hugs.

Linda, That is a big rain . I like all the heaters. LOL. It was nice hearing you and LD on the video. To hear you laughing is good. Today was a truly beautiful day here, sunshine and blue skies...but by golly it was cold. I hauled wood up to the wood box on the back porch. Then after we had lunch and watch ,"the young and restless" , we went out to the shop and made fire starters. That was fun for us. We have not been working together for so long, it was a joy. Ted and I are a pretty good team. We are now warming up by the fire. Blessings, love you guys, xoxo, Susie

There’s Nothing like a rainy day to keep you indoors and comfy, Linda. We also have one of those fireplace looking heaters and while it doesn’t give off a lot of heat, as you said, we also enjoy it.

We had a rainy day yesterday after 47 days of no rain - so it was most welcome. Cheers
