I am so far behind in all things December but I am still plugging along.
God is always good and supplies our every need at the most perfect time and He has sent me a handyman named Hector. He's the one who installed our new den windows and painted our house and then more recently made our fence gate and then cleaned out Louis Dean's storage building. Last week he helped me store away all my fall tubs and carried off trash. Yesterday he came to clean out all our gutters and gather up eight black bags of leaves from the back yard. He also blew out the Christmas house and gazebo before putting dozens of empty tubs and lids inside the Christmas store house.
ALL of these things needed to be done and there's no way I could have done it by myself. I needed help and God sent Hector.
Louis Dean is wobbly on his feet these days and can't do the things he used to do.
He also can't keep a thought for longer than 30-45 seconds so he can't help me like before.
He has sundowners now and is up all night and then sleeps a good bit during the day.
When he can't sleep he piddles in his room - and that's a good thing unless he's fooling with electricity which makes me nervous!
All in all, we are making the most of what we have and the least of what we've not.
Brenda and I shopped Tuesday's Treasures for our first and only time this month.
All these fake nails and bath products and cosmetics are brand new.
I wish I could have pretty fingernails but I don't.
I get claustrophobic with the acrylic ones and my real nails hang, break and look awful.
So when I want to look like a real lady, I use the press on or the glue on nails.
A brand new bottle of COACH parfum for under $25.
Brand new felt slippers.
A brand new super nice insullated bag for ice cream!
Brenda found this pajama top and robe for me and they match the pajama pants I already have.
She also spied this gorgeous silky green robe!
In other news, our possum family continues to entertain us!
I enjoy feeding them!
Thursday was our Christmas Tea - Brenda, Shirley and I had a wonderful time together at The Chocolate Angel Cafe and Bakery on High Street in Plano.
We all three ordered the Chocolate Angel Salad Plate...
Broccoli salad, pasta salad and spinach strawberry salad plus a delicious scone.
It was so much fun to have this special time together.
Shirley is the one who made this happen!
She made the arrangements and this was Brenda and my first visit here.
This photo is of our time together at Shirley's house.
I'm going to start the season earlier next Christmas and hope to host a Christme Tea here at home.
I'm still decorating and tweaking things....
While I didn't put up a large tree this year, I did decorate several smaller ones.
The dining room has two!
It's late on Saturday afternoon and I have been working in the sewing room.
Most likely I will not get to the gazebo and guest room until the week after Christmas but I'll make it happen. I'm going to enjoy all the decorations for a good while!
Hope you are all enjoying the season and taking the time to stop and think about all that God has done for us.
I wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and hope you all received my Christmas Santa card.
I still have 18 left after my reorder so let me know if you did not get one.

Merry Christmas and thank you so very much for the beautiful card you painted. Its beautiful and I have it framed with the other ones. Wishing you a wonderful 2026. You're an amazing woman!
Thank you so much for your card! Your wonderful artwork is so precious to me! I love that you feed the possums still! They eat so many bad bugs. The robe and pajama top look so YOU! The angel Cafe is amazing; I have never seen a place like it.
Thank you for the absolutely wonderful Christmas card. I have placed it near my bed where I can see it all the time. Keeping you both in prayers, and I have to remind myself in this chapter of my life that His mercies are new every morning .And we have the assurance that “ God is bigger than any mountain.” May blessings rain down on y’all. Take care …sending a big hug from Tennessee.
Thank you for your card. It came in the mail the other day and what a treasure.
Hector sounds like a real blessing. I'm glad you found him to help out
So glad you found Hector!
Looks like a wonderful girl's day out.
Merry Christmas to you both!
What a treasure you found when you found Hector! I know he has eased your mind and your shoulders and he is a Godsend. I'll bet you are a Godsend to him, as well. In reality, God sent you both into each others' lives for His reasons! You are so right...God is so good to us! Thank you for being a friend to me, too!! Merry Christmas to y'all...
I love the Santa Card and will treasure it always. I love that you found "Hector" to help you with so many things. He sounds like a "keeper". At this stage in life we could all use a "Hector". Thankfully our sons are close enough to help us with a lot, and what they can't or don't have time for we do hire some fellas from church to help us with. They work really cheap for us, praise God! That tea room place looks wonderful, and so nice for you to have that special time with your friends. I know you enjoyed it and I am sure they did too. I hope you and Louis Dean have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones near. God bless you all. Oh, the possums are sure cute!
Forgot to mention -- glad the possums are hanging around! Love you, Trudy
I was praying today for a handy man, hope I get one too. the possums are so cute. we think ours play with the empty chorine bottles at night because I put them were they go and the next day they are scattered.... one night they dug 34 holes in the side yard, looking for grubs... yes, I did count them.. usually there are only 3 or 4, must have found a lot of whatever they were eating.
Thanks for your lovely card, Linda! Merry Christmas!
I received my beautiful card, thank you so much! I frame all of them and use them as Christmas decor! You are such a talented artist! I want one of those salad plates with the scone too! I will have to try and make that at home for myself for New Year's! Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
Praise God for sending Hector! God knows our need. I’m delighted you got to have yea with your friends!
Merry Christmas!
I am looking for a Hector in my life. I do have a son that helps when he can but I always feel horrible asking him to do things. He does SO much for SO many that I hate to ask for time for odds and ends.
LD is a step ahead of my hubby-his dementia has not progressed that far yet. He is, however, very wobbly and uses a walker most of the time (which he hates). Life is certainly full of twists and turns, isn't it? By the way, your Christmas card is beautiful. I think it is my favorite one so far---of course I say that every year, lol...but there is just something so nostalgic about this one. Merry Christmas to you and Louis Dean and many blessings in the upcoming year. xo Diana
Thank you too for my Christmas card. It is truly one of my favorites. Your home continues to be so welcoming and beautiful.
Praying for a wonderful Christmas for you and Louis Dean. You are such a blessed helpmate to him.
Love and hugs
Sue
Linda, May 2026 Be full of Peace and Joy. I know it is hard to watch all the changes in LD. I hope he has smooth transitions and Know they are smooth because you are there for him. Grateful you have had the redeeming years with LD. It gives all who read your blog to have hope for the same. Love this years painting. Thank you and God bless.
So glad you have help Linda. Hug that LD for me. I hold you both in my prayers and you are in my heart also. So sweet you and the ladies had such a beautiful time together. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, Susie

Linda, your wonderful 2025 Santa card is proudly displayed on a wall in our apartment along with the previous ones, thank you very much as they bring us joy every Christmas. Patrick and myself hope that you and Louis Dean enjoy a wonderful holiday season with family.
The tea was fabulous I know! I love doing things like that, especially during the holidays. You are so blessed to have Hector! Send him my way…lots to do in my garage! I hope you can sleep at night while LD is up. Both of you remain in my prayers!!
