I was on the late side this year but all 200 Christmas cards have been sent!
I actually ran out of cards and ordered 20 more just in case I missed someone.
Wednesday afternoon I met my son Jesse at Best Buy to purchase a new laptop.
He arrived early to the appointment and did all the research before I got there so it was easy peasy closing the deal! Plus, he found a really great laptop at nearly half price!!
The Christmas band concert at the Bells' school was later that evening but it would be dark so I couldn't drive to the school and it would be awkward to have Amber or Mike drive us from their house since they could all go in the car at the same time.
Thankfully, Mike's parents live in Irving, too, and offered to stop by and pick us up on their way!
Win! WIN!!
What a wonderful concert!!
The Bells are in the eighth grade so they will be in high school next year!
WOW!
How did that happen??
Trystan was first chair honors band for oboe for district band competition and first chair wind symphony for region competition and was the only student at her school that placed in both competitions in any instrument category.
Logan was fifth chair honors band for euphonium for district band and first chair for region band!
We are all so proud of them!!
All six Bells plus both sets of grandparents!
It takes a village and we have been one since we knew Amber was having all four of her children at the same time!
Tabitha got out the other day and then when I opened the door to look for her, Samantha raced out to join her! They stayed out for hours but at the end of the day, I opened the door and both of them casually waltzed in.
Louis Dean's shoulder continues to bother him so I ordered a shoulder/back heating pad.
Sherry suggested that a heating pad might help and I followed up on that!
It does, indeed, help!
I want to use it next!
When we ordered my new laptop on Wednesday, they didn't have one in stock.
However, they could ship it to me the next day. To have it shipped to Best Buy would not arrive until December 15.
So yesterday afternoon I took it up to to Best Buy and stopped in at Joe V's Smart Shop by HEB.
While not a fully stocked complete store like regular HEBs are - they had some real bargains in the produce section and a huge variety of just about everything.
By the time I did my errands and filled the car up with gas, the sun had set and I arrived home close to dark!
Louis Dean has been my hero with the fluffing of wreathes and trees and stringing up lights.
I'm over half way done with the decorating and have surrendered to the fact that it's the latest EVER to get this done.
Instead of fretting, I am embracing these days of preparation.
It's looking like I will be ready for Christmas Eve!
Bauer continues to perch in the Bells' Christmas tree!!
Good thing he is so cute!
I was visiting BJ's Facebook page and am in love with her pink Santa canvas!
I know she had this last year but not sure how many years before that.
I'm thinking of painting it for next year.
I have several pink Santas as well as pink poinsettias and will be looking for all things pink for next Christmas for the living room.
I'm already planning for next year's decorations while still working on the ones for this year!
We are watching this movie again and we are at Louis Dean's favorite part where Santa's singing in the jail! Such a fun movie!
I've enjoyed all the Christmas movies available on Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Paramount +....
but when Louis Dean and I are watching one together, I'm choosing ones we've already seen and he seemed to especially enjoy!
Can you believe Christmas is only 13 days away??
My big day is Christmas Eve and only 12 days to finish decorating and baking and preparing!
I'm loving every minute of it!
And just so you know.....I intend to leave all my decorations up for several weeks after Christmas so I can sit back and soak up all the ambiance of winter coziness!

Everything is wonderful. I remember those little Bell children. We've been blog friends a long time. How fun to watch them grow into such beautiful young people. I like the adea of a Pink Santa. Take care of youself dear friend. I think of you so often and love you.
Your grands are so smart and it’s hard to believe they will be in high school next year. Where does the time go. Got your Christmas card and am loving it. Jan (Waco)
I had a friend who always left all of her Christmas decorations out until Epiphany, which I think may be Ja. 16th. I had to look up what a euphonium is! Wow, you had a lot of cards to send out! What a job! This is a wonderful family photo!!
So glad you were able to go to the concert. I hate driving at night and now I have to after work every day. I'm getting used to it but still don't like it. I still have to get my Christmas cards in the mail plus have more decorating to do.
I am right there with you...a heating pad works wonders...I have been using one too! I hope you all have a lovely Christmas Eve and enjoy your decorations and food! I am in no hurry to take all the decor down after Christmas as it's too short a season not to enjoy it all a bit longer...time is flying...the Grandchildren grew up so fast....Merry Christmas to all the family!
leave it all up as long as you want to., I once left mine up until Feb 1st. of course it was not as much as you have. Love the family FOTO. lovely and congrats to the girls. I can't believe they are soon to be high school freshman, wow how fast it has happened. I LOVE the pink Santa and you can put my name of him for the drawing. I know you will have no trouble remembering that. ho ho ho.
do you have the computer yet? or did you drop it off somewhere, I got confused on where it is NOW... so glad you got a new one.
Received your Christmas card. Thank you so much! Thankful the other set of grandparents could take you to the concert. RHill, TX
Leave the decorations up as long as you want! :)
Four babies at once had to be something else! They all seem to be great kids, that's for sure. :)
Leave the decorations up as long as you want - I agree! That is a lot of cards. I honestly don't send any anymore. Got too expensive for me. Lots of wonderful things here.
I'm with everyone else..leave your wonderful decorations up just as long as you want. After the hustle and bustle of Christmas Eve you will need time just to sit and savor and enjoy your artistry.
How can the quads be getting ready for High School?? They are such wonderful kids.
I haven't gotten to my few cards that I send out. Hopefully they won't turn into New Years Cards ... haha ...
Love all of these photos and that pink Santa will be a definite winner for next year.

We will leave our decorations up at least through mid-January since we set them up later this year. next year, I would like to start before Thanksgiving so if we go away the apt will have Christmas when we return! Your Bell grandchildren are so accomplished in sports and music and you and their parents are rightly proud.
What a blessing to have those four beautiful grandchildren to enjoy and love! What a wonderful gift from God!! And to see how well accomplished they all are in their own ways, is amazing! I enjoyed all your stories today. So much going on, but you somehow manage to stay on top of it all. And the pink Santa is really beautiful! That would really be something special! Merry Christmas, and yes, leave up the decorations as long as you want! Who said they had to come down at a specific time? Don't we make our own rules for our own homes and what we enjoy and want to do? There's no one keeping track of how long they are up except you, and that's the one who matters, so enjoy them! (((HUGS)))
Such beautiful grands ! They're so grown. Kat and David are 19 and 21! How did that happen?
I guess we will spend Christmas week at their house. They want us, which is great, but I kinda like to stay home too much. Since my stroke, everything's changed. I couldn't keep up with you if I had to. But Ed wants to be there, so I must give it my all. One never knows when the last time is the last time! Love you friend, Trudy
You sure have a beautiful family Linda. I love that you all are so involved with your grands...makes life good doesn't it? We have always tried to do as much with ours as we possibly can. I sure hope this heat will help LD's shoulder. looks pretty comfortable and it seems that heat always helps a ache. I showed your card to my girls and they were in awe of your art work. Absolutely gorgeous..I plan to frame it. Thank you so very much...hugs.
Haven't gotten my card! Hope I will. Good picture of Louis Dean! Love Trudy
