Celebrating Levi, Tuesday Treasures and a Secret Hide-a-way.....

We attended Levi's graduation Monday afternoon!

He's my third grandchild and now all of my son's children are true adults.

Each grandchild is special and Levi has brought so much happiness.
He's bright and funny and strong!
Louis Dean and I sat around later that evening sharing our Levi Memories.
When he was nearly two, LD and I were staying with the grands while his parents went abroad for a week. The first morning we were there he learned to climb out of his baby bed.
I remember us sitting in the front yard watching the kids play and Levi was dragging tree branches larger than he was all across the yard!

When he was three, he was so tough that he when he stepped into their pool drain, he just got up, shook himself off and kept going. Jesse had a pool built in their backyard when he was little so he's always loved the water. He would jump in and do a belly buster and come to the surface, shake the water out of his hair, climb out and then jump in again!

When he was four, we took him to the mall in Fort Worth and let him play in the preschool area there.
He pretended to be a puppy dog and had us laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes. AND he stayed in character for hours! We went to Mother's to visit with her and she was in stitches as we were!
Just looking at Levi makes me smile.

Jesse sent me this photo when he arrived back from the ceremony and celebrations.

Jesse drove us to the graduation in our car and he was able to park in a handicap spot so Louis Dean wouldn't have to walk so far. LD takes his cane with him now when we go out.
Plus Jesse found us seats without having to do many stairs.

Here I am with Sam!
He and Levi are not only brothers but best buddies, as well!

Since Levi is a Davis, we left shortly after he walked across the stage. Jesse took us out to dinner at the Saltgrass Steakhouse along with Rachel and her daughter and we had the best time! Louis Dean was charming and talked about his teaching days since Rachel's daughter is in her third year of teaching. They had experiences with second graders in common.

Tuesday Treasures with Brenda!

We shopped two thrift stores and we each found a few things.
Brenda scored with not one but two pairs of Chico jeans in her exact size!
Plus a brand new lloking Texas Ranger shirt for Billy and a few other things.
It was a good Tuesday afternoon.
I shopped Aldi and then made a run to the airport to pick Ilene up from her trip to Colorado Springs.
We don't see each every day but I had missed her and have already planned our traditional Saturday night Drinks, Dinner and Movie!
The movie will be Miracle in East Texas.
Not sure of the dinner menu just yet but I'm working on it!

Our gardens are blooming well and I have been picking bouquets every morning.

We had a package waiting for us from a blogging friend and were so surprised to see what she had made for us!

A lap rug for Louis Dean!
He was so happy he made a video and I sent it to her!

Not only did she sew one for Louis Dean, she made one for me, too!!
and not only that, she also sewed a stack of coasters for us and a clever tea towel that I have clipped onto the handle of my brand new dishwasher!

Thank you, Judy!!!
You do such beautiful work.

Since we returned from the ranch, I have been working on a little prayer garden for myself.

It started when Summer had a weatherproof outdoor rug delivered to me for Mother's Day.
A few years ago, Louis Dean rebuilt an old deck between our bedroom door and the AC unit.
This is where I put the rug and that led from one thing to the other and before I knew it, I was decorating and setting up a little retreat.

It's really quite cozy!

I've since added fairy lights along the top of the privacy fence.

It's been fun adding touches here and there.

I have shade cloth to attach tomorrow from the eaves to the top of the fence.

So true!

This is my view as I sit in my new space.

I'm loving it!

Today (Wednesday) I spent literally hours doing our monthly meds.
I wish it worked out where I have enough of every medicine for all four weeks.
Every once in awhile it works out that way but not usually.

Louis Dean has had a couple of rough nights this week.
He gets restless and ends up staying up all night.
He's finally lost so much sleep that it finally caught up with him.
I fixed him a tall glass of cornbread and milk after which he took a small nap.
For dinner I made Chinese food and he dearly loves soy sauce and kept telling me how it really hit the spot. Not long after we ate, he headed to bed.
The problem was I had pulled out a drawer of my bracelets, pins, necklaces and such and the bed was unavailable, so he went in the guest room and has been sound asleep ever since!

It's after midnight and I have been binge watching Kingdom so after this one ends I will be off to bed!

Oh, Congratulations to your handsome grandson Levi! I know you are very proud of him, and rightly so! Interestingly, I just read your chapter where his Daddy, Jesse, was born, and now to read about his son graduating is so special, because it shows that through it all, God was blessing you and your little family and the blessing continues on today. I know there were bumps in the road, but we all have them in one way or another, and it is the grace of God that carries us over the bumps onto the smoother path eventually. So thankful! Loved this whole post, especially seeing your little secret hideaway garden spot! That looks comfy and cozy and sweet. And as long as it isn't too hot, I know you will enjoy sitting out there. Loved all your treasures that you found on Tuesday, and just happy to read this fun and beautiful post. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You are a blessing to all of us.
