Flowers, Rain, Cats and Other Things......

We're enjoying our week here at the ranch.
My stress hives have nearly disappeared and I am so thankful about that!

I picked a bouquet of our roses the other day.

Still enjoying the flowers from home.

Lots of these are scattered in clusters all over the place.

My very first sunflower of the season!

The bushes are loaded with blooms that will be bursting out any day now!

Our kitties keep us entertained......

Tabitha is a smart cat but could not figure out how to get the door open so she could go inside.

She tried her best.....

....and finally gave up!

Louis Dean has been staying busy doing this and that.
Here he is working on a chair leg.
He's really creative in his repairs.

He mowed some yesterday but the machine kept dying on him.

I think he may have put some of that oil/gas mixed fuel in it - which is how it wound up in the shop when it was practically brand new.
I found a can of that fuel and have hidden it!

Son Dean brought his dad down a new toy to place with.

It's like a mini chain saw that acts like a giant pair of scissors.

Dean knows how much his dad loves a campfire and brought him down some firewood to cut up.

We woke up to a hard rain on Monday morning and then it was mostly sunny on Tuesday.
But this morning we had a real gully washer and it lasted much of the day.

I took this pic yesterday. The goats are snacking on the Texas lilac trees.

Dean took this pic the other day. the ponds are filling up again!

I love a rainy day and this has been a good one.

I soaked a pan of pinto beans yesterday and cooked them in the crockpot overnight.

Sliced onion and fresh cornbread muffins made agood lunch!
We will have a repeat of that for supper tonight in addition to some smoked sausage Dean gave us.

It's been a relaxing few days and I am feeling so much better.

I'll be working on my book tonight and hope to make some serious progress.

Three more whole days to be here!

I hope your hives go away! I love beans, cornbread, and onions. His son seems to take good care of his dad too. I also love rain!

I'm so glad you're at your happy place and feeling better! Hives are awful!
Wish I still had a cat. They are so entertaining and give lots of purrs and rubs!
You all be careful coming home whenever you do.
Dean is such a good guy. I know you love him like your own!

I'm glad that this has been a relaxing time for you. Tabitha was so close to figuring out how to get that door open so she could get in.

Love the cat videos. I am just learning to appreciate the intelligence of cats now that we have two adopted outdoor kitties who really would love to be indoors in this heat, but we are not ready for that experience yet...too much stuff they could get in trouble with inside. Maybe someday, but hubby would have to say yes first. Love seeing all your flowers and beauty around you there. So glad LD is so happy there, and that you are relaxing and feeling better too. Those pinto beans and cornbread sure sound good! Good rainy day food in the country! Thank you for sharing your daily joys and experiences with us. I love reading your posts!

Good to read that you stress levels have declined and the hives have gone, Linda. It looks like a lot of good days even with the rain. The cat videos were fun too.

I can hear how restful and calming it is for you to be in your Happy Place. Glad the hives are gone. This does seem to be the perfect place for Louis Dean too. Lots of creative puttering for him to do. He sure has a great son that really finds the best things to keep him busy.
Love you and love coming here to your blog. Enjoy the rest of your time at the ranch.

What a lovely and relaxing update! It sounds like the ranch is doing wonders for your stress hives, and those roses are just gorgeous. Your kitties, Tabitha and Louis Dean, sound like quite the characters their antics made me smile! And how sweet of your son Dean to bring the firewood and the new tool; those small chainsaws are so handy. Enjoy the rest of your time there, and happy writing on your book.

I just shared a new post, I invite you to read and let me know what you think.
