The Santa Wall for 2017 is Up!

The Santa Wall is UP and I was so happy to see some of my favorite Santas again.
I spent a couple of hours on the wall Monday morning.
Since this is a gallery wall any way, it wasn't too hard to do.
I simply exchanged a Santa painting for what was hanging when I could.
I made a mental note to paint next year's Santas horizontally.

Sometimes I look at my paintings and think, "Wow! Did I really paint that??"

I'm proud of all my Santas.
Over the weekend, I saw a beach scene I had painted for Amber's guest room and I thought,
"Good grief! I can paint better than THAT!!"

Every Santa brings back memories of the art nights I spent painting them.

I finished the wall up today and then lit candles and sat back to watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel.

I was happy to see this Santa again!
He is one of my favorites!

Christmas paintings and fall decorations!
Works for me.

Once the Santa Wall goes up, I am ready to loosen up my tight grip on Fall.
I'm never quite ready to see it go......and I shall savor these last few weeks while still enjoying my Santas at the same time.

I am in rest and recover mode for my mouth and burned hand.
My sweet husband has picked up the slack.
He served me breakfast in bed this morning - scrambled eggs and toast and jelly.
I'm happy I can chew a little bit on my back teeth.
I had to tear the toast into small pieces and push to the back so I could eat them.
Every day is a bit better.

We are loving the chilly fall weather here in Texas!
I was quick to light a fire in the den and enjoyed sitting there while I watched a Christmas movie.
I took total control of the remote today!
Louis Dean had to check closing bell on his computer!

A few strands of lights had burned out in the foyer and I replaced them with Martha Stewart Warm White LED ones. I am buying the LED ones and will slowly transition all my old ones to LED - as they burn out. I won't trash them until they burn out, though! I know! I am a tightwad!

Nothing says cozy like candles.
I truly needed all things warm and cozy today.

It's been a little tough.
As my hand heals, it hurts more than it did.
I admit to being rather fragile right now.
Poor Louis Dean!
I cooked some chicken today for a chicken salad - the house smelled so good!
We were out of mayo and I told him he could pick some up at the Dollar Store which is less than a mile up the street from us. He made a comment about the $ store and I started to cry!
I told him, "You can't say hurtful things to me right now!!!"
Poor guy. He hasn't said much this evening.......

Today was Tuesday and, while I opted not to do my normal routine with Ruth Ann, we DID paint!
She brought me some potato soup tonight and Stephanie brought soup over for me to eat tomorrow!
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
This has really been harder than I thought it would be.
Still! I am so grateful to have this behind me and I am looking forward to eating turkey and dressing soon!

Candles......movies.....glowing fireplace......warm soup.....fairy lights......a glass of wine......instrumental Christmas music....chilly air coming in through the French doors.....the smell of wood smoke and chicken soup......flannel nightgown and fuzzy slippers.....
My tough day has ended beautifully

Once you're feeling well, and this year is packed away, I'd love it if you could do some posts just on your paintings. How you got started, memories of your life while you painted each one, etc.
Oh, your favorite Santa is my favorite as well!

Dear, I'm so sorry for your pain, and I would bring you soup if I could! I'd love to do that. Can I send you a "virtual bowl" from my heart with tasty, healthy, healing qualities infused in it? Can you taste the care with which I made it?
xoxo

You are in rest and recover mode and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is exactly what you need. How wonderful to have caring friends to bring you soup and a caring husband there to help you out. Praying for your complete recovery -- soon!

Your home is so beautiful, as aways.

I'm so sorry you are going through this struggle right now. Sending special prayers up for you tonight.

I think Bluebird49's idea is great! I'd also love to hear how you started your painting.

Awww, I am so sorry. But I AM glad you will now be all well for Christmas! I LOVE your wall, and have been enlarging the pictures to get a better look. We ALL say and do things when we are in pain that we never usually would.

Linda, I am sending big hugs to you my sweet friend. Your paintings are so beautiful. Do you hang each one in the same spot each year? We have been having fires in the fireplace for a week now. You know you truly have my sympathy when it comes to your tooth extractions and getting accustomed to your dentures. I just had that one fractured tooth taken out Monday. I was so stressed up over the two week wait, that when that doctor said ,"there it's out"...I could feel the stress hissing out of me like a deflated balloon...I am surprised I didn't fly across the room like an old balloon . I did nap at home from the release of all that stress...it was exhausting. Praying for you. LD loves you and will care for you. But take care of yourself also. Blessings to all, xoxo, love you, Susie

Glad you were able to eat a little more today and hope tomorrow the hand will not hurt so much. Your Santa wall is amazing, what a gift you have for painting.

no flannel gowns here, still in the 80's. sorry you still can eat what you want and are hurting so bad with the hand. I am sure LD understood completely... I love the SH Santa sitting on the floor by the piano.. my friend had her upper plate put in 3 weeks ago and still can't bite anything, she is now cutting chicken into tiny pieces to chew carefully. my son had his and he said it took about a month to get used to them. having the burn just made the teeth thing worse. hugs

Dear sweet Linda,
It is important work to rest and recover for long term health. Its okay to feel fragile. How sweet of your friends to bring soups to eat and to have LD make chicken salad. Good food is healing, too!

Praying for you!

Poor Linda, hugs, you are taking all the same things I would prescribe myself to heal: soup, fairy lights, candles, wine and movies! Likely the worst is over now

Awwww...I wish that the loving husbands of the world would wrap their wives up in their arms and say, “There, there, every little thing is going to be all right.” Course, maybe they’re nervous that they’ll get clobbered.

I loved seeing your Santa wall again. There’s one that looks a little like Louis Dean. Everything just looks cozy wonderful. ❤️

I feel for you with the burn. I've just had a gout attack which is a bit miserable. Have rubbed voltaren on and am drinking some Chardonnay so hopefully won't notice the toe soon. Do you guys ever think about international travel. I am a long long way away but I think you would find New Zealand interesting. There are direct flights to Auckland from Houston - which is amazing to me. Cheers

I just left over at Susie's blog and sounds like you've had a rough day...hand hurting as well as mouth...please keep us posted okay on what the dentist/doc says tomorrow okay? Thinking of you.....
