Enjoying The COUNTRY Life!!

I am loving this time to unwind and relax in the COUNTRY!!!
We didn't go to bed until 1:00 this morning and I was so excited to just BE here that I woke up at 6:00!!! I can hardly BELIEVE that myself!!! LD slept in until after 10:00 which is a more normal time for me. as well. I rested and read and prayed and then turned the coffee on and worked on my book. It's such a gift to have days and days in a row with no real agenda!

In the late morning I took myself for a little walk!
These flowers are right beside our camper.

This is the view I have when I go around the camper and head over to the road that leads down to my step son's place.

THIS is the view as I  look back to see what Louis Dean is doing!
Hooking up the water supply to the camper.
That's REALLY important!

THIS is the view of the small tank as I am walking up the road.

Look who's swimming today!!!
These are the baby ducks Sherry bought back in March when we were here with Trystan and Logan!
They just took them down to the water the other day!

The water's edge.......
I walked on down to the meadow - one of my all time favorite places here on the ranch!

It was along about this time that I felt the need for a NAP!

While that didn't actually HAPPEN, I did rest in the girl bunk with my new book for a few hours!
There's just something so exciting about starting a new BOOK!
This is a new to me author and the setting is Scotland - a place near and dear to my heart!

I eventually got up and started to move around!

I like walking around the ranch during different times in the day.
The meadow is always so much cooler than anywhere else.

I can sit in one spot and see all manner of interesting things!

This baby goat was most generous in offering me a massage!!

Dean introduced me to Sherry's very favorite rooster!

I held him and he is a real charmer!
Dean told me he is a POLISH rooster!
I never heard of such.....

I love all the animals down here!

AND I love the crowing! Day and night!!

Sweet little critters all over the place!

I visited the big tank late this afternoon.
It's such a peaceful place - no matter the time of day.

Birds, insects and roosters! Throw in a locust and you have the sounds of COUNTRY!

I have been very careful walking around.
The Crocs I've been wearing - I brought TWO pair - have worked out well.

Dean and Sherry just put in a new goat yard.
You have to pin them up at night or the coyotes will get them!

Once again, BACK to the camper to rest awhile!

We drove the truck down to the meadow to get some beer and wine out of the barn fridge for tonight.
I could NOT fit all our food plus a watermelon plus beverages into the tiny apartment sized fridge here in the camper! Good thing Dean has a BIG fridge/freezer combo in the barn!

Meet Smokey!

He's such a pretty cat! Maddie lives here as well but we haven't seen her yet!
She stays up the upper barn most of the time, Dean says.
I'm just glad she is happy and I thank Dean and Sherry for adopting her!

My sweet Louis Dean!
He is nearly 80 years old but to get up on that tailgate, why, he just planted his hands down and in one swift and graceful move hoisted himself on up!
He will be the first to tell he can 'dive off deeper and come up drier!'

One last photo from the meadow.
WE came back up to the camper to wait out the sun going down.
I had stopped at the Dollar store in Mart but was missing several things!
I finally went out and rummaged through the truck and found the Glade plug ins and a bottle of fingernail polish. I also found the butter tub and block of cream cheese.
Did you know they will MELT in a hot truck??

We had our first campfire for this trip!
See that empty wine box? We put it to good use!
The grill was fired up and we had roasted potatoes, corn on the cob, Jalapeno Poppers and pork chops for a late dinner!

Another wonderful day in the country!!!!

I'm glad you are away and relaxing. It's just what you need after all the doctors you've been seeing. Just be careful and not hurt your foot!

Hi Linda, good to know that you are up and about walking around, enjoying the nature around you. I like the Polish rooster with a cool hairstyle. Lol! Sounds so fun to have the goat to give you free massage.

Wonderful joys in the country. A nice little get-away even for your readers. I know that I need one. And I love Louis Dean's expressions... Thought that I wouldn't be able to watch the video because just the top black strip was showing, but when I clicked on it, up it popped. Serenity!

Looks like it was just what the doctor ordered Linda!! If you like books set in Scotland, I suggest your try the Hamish Macbeth mysteries by MC Beaton. I just love that Scottish lawman. I agree with you about opening a new book!! It is so exciting to me.:)
