Making 'History' Together......

It was a slow day here at the Chapman's!
I told Louis Dean that if it were not for him - I would have NO 'Blog Fodder' for today!!!
(That's a tongue twister!)

It was 19 degrees when we woke up this morning! Oh, my GOODNESS!
I so did not want to get up! So I DIDN'T!! At least not until after 10:00.

We had errands to do and places to go.

We decided to stop for a healthy lunch at Sweet Tomatoes.
It was our first visit there and I was pleased with my lunch!

I thought Louis Dean chose well as he went down the salad bar.......
that is UNTIL he came to the dressings!!!

He seemed a bit glum eating it.
I think he may have been disappointed that we didn't go to IHOP!

He got a bit more animated when he came back to the table with a dish of ice cream.
Not just ice cream - but ice cream covered with and swimming in caramel sauce!!!
PURE SUGAR!!!

I tell you what!!!
My Louis Dean is the greatest sport about being the focal point of my blog!!
I think he actually enjoys it!

As much as he enjoyed that dessert - I think he may well have learned a lesson today.
From the restaurant we continued on our errands.
He went downhill FAST!!!
I think that sugar just sapped him!
He had to go to bed and 'sleep it off' after we got home!

Here's a photo sketch of our home as we pulled up in the driveway.

The birds are feeling the cold. We felt so sorry for them that we filled the feeders before we left on errands. They must have appreciated it because all the feeders were full and we saw a line of birds taking shelter in the debris above the porch.

We have THE best neighbors!!! Stephanie brought over our dinner tonight!
Gumbo complete with a bowl of rice!
Louis Dean ate this AFTER he had cornbread and milk.
Bless his heart! There's NOTHING like being told to eat healthy and cut out carbs and sugars to make you HUNGRY! Thankfully, he DID eat that salad - you know - the green stuff under that load of dressing he piled on top!! And the gumbo was delicious! AND healthy!!!

It's cold tonight and worthy of a fire as we catch up with a few TV shows.
I cheated and used a fire log.

Tomorrow comes early and I will be heading to Fort Worth to spend some time with my mother.
I haven't seen her since Christmas Day!

I'll close with my Throw Back Thursday that I just NOW posted on Facebook!
Guess I am blending the Throw Back Thursday and the Flash Back Friday thing!!!

These photos are from 2009 when we were visiting Amber and Mike in Scotland.
They lived there for a year and we spent an entire month with them!

The cold here today in Texas reminded me of the cold we felt there in Scotland.

That's the North Sea behind us. There were actually people out there surfing!!!
I am so grateful for the 'history' Louis Dean and I share now!
When we first married in 2005 it was a priority that we make 'history' together!!!
Now that we are in our 10th year of marriage - I am happy to say that we have!
This includes many, many happy adventures and our fair share of sorrows.
That's Life and we are grateful for every single minute we have shared!
We continue to 'make history' together each and every day.
I thank God for Louis Dean!

"He's the best thing that's come along in my crazy life!!"

The 2009 photos are awesome! You all looks so happy! And are very sharply dressed! Louis Dean is so sweet and cute! You are so blessed to have each other. I don't know if his salad is healthful, but it sure must have been good! This is the way I would want to eat my salads if I could. This morning it was three degrees! Nevertheless we went out of town to Costco and Tuesday Morning. Plus three Goodwills!

Lovely photos, Linda, as always. The gumbo and rice...yum! And I love salads. Believe it or not, though, I don't use dressings, I make my own. I use extra virgin olive oil with either lemon or lime juice (freshly squeezed), or a little red wine vinegar, salt and pepper, that's it.

Linda, I think you and LD are a beautiful couple. I love that you have each other. Good thing you are feeding your birds. It's been a nasty year so far, around these parts. I can not believe the Cold weather you are getting. I saw your town on the evening news last night. They were talking about all the quakes Irving has had, and how some think , fracking could be the cause. I hope the quakes stop. Too scary. Even small quaking can do damage. As in foundations of home, gas lines, water pipes. The two quakes we had while we lived here, make me wonder about the water flow in the ground, as one of our basement weep holes, seems to has water trickles . It was not like that when we moved here. Take care of each other, blessings to all, xoxo,Susie

Hi Linda. Don and I took a little trip up North to take care of some business, so I haven't been on my computer. But today, at friends, I had time to get on the computer, and of course you are my first stop. Loved you day with your honey, and the pictures from 2009 are just marvelous. My dearest is getting a lot better about me sharing him on my blog. I think I will have to introduce him to videos ....haha. You are a delight, and I'm so glad in God's providence he brought us together as friends.
