Ups and Downs

Every day has its share of UPS and Downs!
The biggest UP was getting the bathroom back! It took Louis Dean all day but he did it!
He had some problem about it being level. Looks okay to me!

I took Lucy for a walk with storm clouds brewing AND the sun shining!
At the same time!

Another 'Up' was the smell of baking!
A Strawberry Sour Cream Pound Cake!
I will take some slices to leave over at my sister's tomorrow as a Welcome Home From Vacation treat.
Two weeks ago I had taken a tin of chocolate chip cookies to the ladies at Mother's hair salon.
Last Friday Donna gave it back to me and said they hoped to get a refill!
It is now full of thin slices of cake to take back to them in the morning.
And, YES! I did save about a fourth of the cake for Louis Dean!
He ate a piece still warm from the oven this afternoon!

Decorating 'HIS' bathroom John Wayne style!
(I know! I need to take that price sticker off!)

I've cleaned up his bathroom and think I'll wait a few days before painting anything else.
I think I may NOT be happy with that color.
I really want to lighten that room up for him but perhaps the color is TOO whatever!
Louis Dean said it reminded him of his childhood home on Locust Street in Abilene -
all old and yellow! Maybe I carried the distressing a little too far and it looks TOO real!

Decorating with a MAN theme!

So mostly my day was full of UPS!

My biggest DOWN was a fall I took this afternoon. I was on a stepladder outside the kitchen door trying to repair the shade. The short denim jumper I was wearing fit perfectly over the back of the ladder so when I stepped down - I took the ladder WITH me! I hit my head on the stone patio but not very hard. Hard ENOUGH! In the hours since I fell I have started feeling the aches and pains so it is early to bed for me tonight with NO wine but TWO Tylenol PMs!

Sorry about the fall, ladders can be so dangerous bumps on the head can develop into something else so keep a close eye on things. I am sure all will be well! take care. I really enjoy all your posts

Linda do take care and get LD to make sure you do not have a concussion.

I'm so sorry to read about that fall. Take care of yourself! You are precious to a great many people!

Oh no... I am always worried about falls and it is shocking really how many times clothing is involved. I have had issues with loose sleeves for example and pockets, too. Hope that you are feeling better this morning. John and I are not happy that you've taken this spill.

Perhaps if LD just lives with the bathroom for a few days, everything will resolve itself. Don't you find that the decorating is even more important than the paint? Perhaps that's just my wishful thinking.

I like your UPS better than your DOWN. Hope you are feeling OK. Listen to these other lovely comments and make sure you do not have a concussion.

Linda, I always look around before I step down off a ladder. I hate that you fell. I sure hope you'll be okay. Doesn't take much to get twisted and hurt your back.
You have such a good heart Linda. You always seem to be helping or sharing.
Ld's cup reminds me of a man I worked with....he got stopped by the police and started crying. He said the policeman let him off with a warning, for speeding. I said"you mean you cried and got out of a ticket?" He said ,"Well a man's got to do what a man's got to do." LMBO !!xoxo,Susie

Oh my goodness! I hate to hear that you fell! I have done that before too and ended up hurting my leg terribly. I was in pain for a long time. Step ladders are so dangerous. I now use them with great caution! I hope you recover quickly and can have a nice and restful weekend. Maybe a soak in a warm bath would help you feel better too. That strawberry pound cake sure looked good. I do believe you eat the best foods!

Good Lord Linda! So glad you didn't get hurt worse.
I hope I don't read in the next post that you fractured or broke anything. No more climbing ladders with dress or skirts on. Deal?
