Snug as A Bug!!! We Are IN our Camper Tonight!!

We MEANT to leave Monday morning to come down to the ranch.
That didn't work out too well!
We had a really tough day with Louis Dean trying to get his prescriptions filled and finding out he had no coverage - according to the Rx card he gave the pharmacy!
It was practically an all day ordeal with first getting the prescriptions approved - which involved me having to call both doctor AND pharmacy more than once!!
He had gone BACK to the drugstore and I was so frustrated I went back to BED around 4:00 in the afternoon and cried and prayed!!
Turned out he had given them the WRONG prescription card!!!
He carried TWO in his wallet why in the world he would carry an outdated card I do NOT know and had given them the one from two YEARS ago!!
Problem solved and we were exhausted!!!

We still had to finish loading the truck so we could leave on what we HOPED to be Tuesday morning!

By then it was DARK and wrangling that mattress OFF of the guest room bed and down the hall, through the living room and past the Christmas tree and then squeezing it through our tiny foyer - well, it was a LOT of trouble!!! It took me a good while to rehang all the things we had knocked off the walls!

But where there's a will there's a way and the mattress was LOADED!!!

I must say the real bright spot in our Monday was a surprise visit from Rayne!
She and Sabrina were in Irving to drop a friend off at the airport so they popped in to pick up Grace O'Malley! That's Rayne's Pirate doll! Rayne dearly loves all things pirate and she and Summer have been watching Pirates of the Caribbean. When she saw a Johnny Depp poster on the closet door in the guest room, she got all excited and was telling me all about Captain Jack Sparrow!!

This morning Louis Dean slept in and I was wide awake wanting to get going!
Instead I huddled under the covers with my iPad playing Scrabble and Words With Friends until he woke up!

That's a honking big 1 TON pickup and between the two of us we packed it tighter than a drum!!!!
It was early afternoon before we finally pulled out of the driveway!!

Our first stop was IHOP!
Can you tell how HAPPY I am to be on my way!!!

Can you tell Louis Dean is not enjoying this whole experience as much as I am??

I'm always so excited to get on the road!

We stopped in Waco at the HEB so I could pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables.
This is my favorite store!!!

I love how the scenery changes as we get out into the country.

We were hoping to arrive before dark and we did!!

I could tell it had been raining down here but it must have been a few days ago because it wasn't really muddy.

We're getting closer!!!

FINALLY!!! Turning into the ranch along about 5:00!!!
Waco is only 125 miles from us but it took awhile with stopping for lunch and groceries.

We made it in time for the sunset!

And a good one it was!

The goats were out mowing our grass for us!

It feels good to finally BE here!!
The majority of the stuff has been unloaded and most of it is put up!
The water's not on but we can fix that tomorrow.
Louis Dean had a couple of Steak and Cheese Chimichangas while I had a toasted bagel with cream cheese. I like that whatever you eat when you're camping seems like more fun than it would at home.

I just talked to Summer on the phone and I mentioned how late it is.
She told me it wasn't THAT late!!! We hadn't been here in the camper since October so the clock hadn't been changed!!

Here's to going to bed an hour EARLIER than we thought!!!!

How on earth you get as much done in a day that you do, well ... it's beyond me. ;) I would have been DONE after the mattress haul. Done! As in back to bed myself.

What a beautiful sunset. Can't wait to read about your adventures on the ranch this time.

Hi Linda, your trip to the ranch sounded so exciting to me. That was a lovely sunset in the country and I am looking forward to your posts about the ranch.

I love goats. I could be enticed to the country to spend time with goats but can't think of much else that would make me spend time in the country this time of year. Will be interested to see if your outside fire is enough for you to sit outside in the late evenings or at night. One thing I'm sure of is that you will have a good time because you're a bloom where you're planted kind of girl.

Hoping that as I comment you are both tucked in snug as can be enjoying a good old country sleep-in.

Very labor intensive to get to the ranch, but always worth it many times over.

Have a marvelous, restful time!

(It is just now dawning on me that you painted the beautiful picture in your header. It looks quite a little bit like my corner.)

Why didn't the dadgum pharmacy mention that the card was expired? They could have helped you out with that a little.

We are having such a beautiful week. I hope you have a great time!

I love this term " you bloom where you are planted" :) I am one of Linda's & she has always been this way, she is a little ball of fire :) She can run circles around all of us :)

Linda, I can tell you why LD had the expired card. When we get new ones we hang on to the old for a few days....to make sure the new is right. LOL. So glad you made it to the ranch before dark tough. Loved the little lawn mowers. :):)Enjoy your time there and relax. Blessings to all, love you, Susie

Beautiful Sunset!

I am so happy for you and LD to be at the Ranch! Enjoy it! I know you will. It's a place you can get away from the everyday 'work' and responsibilities and enjoy doing other things.

Savor it all, friend!

It is a beautiful sunset. I love the country the peace and quiet except for the animals. Just a get away to have a change of scenery from the stress that we have to go through at times. Enjoy your time on the ranch. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

Glad you made it there safely - I am sure you could have done without all the drama Monday though. Enjoy the peace!

I'm so glad you made it safely, even with the trauma of the mattress! :) You will enjoy your time there I know, even if the weather is not the best. Hoping you both get some rest! I'm not one to "rough" it but I do know the country air and peace would help anyone! :)
