Good Habits

I am hoping to get back to my Traditional Tuesdays next week!
I have missed going to the movies and doing art!
My easel is now back in place in the dining room and by the end of the week we should be back to our normally scheduled programming!
While I haven't seen a movie or picked up a paint brush in weeks and weeks - I HAVE been to the Goodwills on a regular basis.

We are looking for some new chairs. I'm keeping the den game table and will refinish it this year but the chairs are worn out! I would LIKE to have some smaller scaled ones to replace them. We are also looking for two chairs for our little kitchen table - again smaller scaled and finally, I need a new sewing machine chair. I promised Louis Dean FOOD if he would take us in the truck over to Salvation Army in Dallas. It's the big store on Inwood and I totally believed I would find exactly what I was looking for. I didn't.

I did keep my word to Louis Dean about lunch and we ate at the original Sonny Bryan's BBQ place - right next door to the Salvation Army! Talk about GOOD BBQ!!!!
The weather was perfect today with the temps in the 70's - again!

I got so sleepy that by the time we got home I just had to go to bed!!!
I would have just STAYED there but I had a mess to deal with in the guest room.
Yesterday I took the tall secretary desk out of there and put it in the den so I can have a little computer place.
Then I got a wild hair that I wanted to move the bed!
Now UNDER that bed is a LOT of stuff!!! A foot bath, a vaporizer, large duffel bag, an air mattress, plus lots of frames and canvasses. It tore the whole room up to move that stinking bed - and then I changed my mind and we had to move it BACK!!

It was a lot of work!!!
Our lives are changing now that the quads are getting older. We love to have them come here to visit and we need to make this room work a little better for them. We intend to buy a bunk bed with a double mattress on the bottom and a twin on top and then a trundle under the double! While the quads have not spent the night here yet - it will happen before too long. I need to be able to sleep all four of them! I think we will repaint and re carpet when we get the new furniture - which we need to FIND first. I'm thinking of looking on Craigs List. Amber and Summer both find great deal on there!

See that stack of polka dot boxes??
That was one of my Goodwill finds today.
I put some of the art supplies for the kids in there.

I could NOT resist these three little tea pots!!
Aren't they SWEET????
I'll save the Bunny one to use at Easter and will pick one of the others to serve tea tomorrow when they come. Wednesdays are Quad Days!!!

I also picked up this doll baby stroller so I hope Amber brings a baby to go in it!

I am trying to teach the kids about taking toys out and then putting them back up.
This comes naturally to Logan so I think the others can learn it too!
I have lots of activities planned for them tomorrow - plus a big surprise!!!
Their Aunt Deanie is coming and bringing Great Grandma with her!!
We are going to have some FUN!!!!

I have been meditating and re memorizing some poems this month.
One of my favorites is this one:

Good habits are not made on birthdays, nor Christian character at the New Year. The workshop of character is everyday life. The uneventful and commonplace hour is where the battle is lost or won.

you find the coolest thing...I've never found anything at the Salvation on Inwood, they are kind of pricey...have fun with those sweetie pies tomorrow...

I totally agree with this quote! So you are really making a room for the quads, beds and toys. AWESOME! They WILL need their own room! And I am thinking peel and stick decals! They have some awesome ones for kids... elephants and giraffes, all kinds. I just ordered two more kinds for the kitchen on Amazon. We traveled to Richmond a few days ago, this city has 13 Goodwills!!! We only made it to about five, but I got some awesome things. I LOVE your teapots! And so will the quads! I love the new boxes, they are like a decoration. We are in the 20's tonight, brrr...

Busy busy again. I have changed a room all around to go back and keep it like it was in the first place. Oh dear...in our small apartment..under the bed is a ton of stuff! I gave away a lot of my pottery tea sets to some little girls in our church, but I kept all my china ones. They are all packed in my hat boxes. I miss them..and will have to get them out again soon.

How fun to have the quads spend a night and have their own room. You are the best.

I love that quote, and try to live by it every day. Tell me, if you have so much stuff under the bed, where do the monsters hang out? ;)

Linda, love your photos and looks as if Louis Dean enjoyed his food. :) I always enjoy seeing the projects you are working on.

Good morning! You sound like me on your "wild hair" moment. It is soo something I would do. Decide to move something, go to a BIG hassle doing so, and then decide to move it back, lol. A comfy sewing chair is such a must! I broke down and bought one a few months ago and let me tell you it's made a HUGE difference in my life, lol. Enjoy your quad day!

I liked all of it but loved that quote very much - it is true - your character is who you are every single day!

The quote was new to me and I wrote it down. I too would have bought those boxes. Also I love moving things around. Would do it every day if I could.

Linda, If you had not taken the truck , you would have found chairs...that's how that works. LOL.. At least LD got a good meal from his efforts. Your room is at least organized and clean. I do not know where you get all your energy. :) Can't wait to see some new paintings. Blessings to all, xoxo,Susie

Awww rats about not finding the chairs! Have you happened to look at Pinterest for ideas in bunk configurations, etc.? Lots of great ideas! I have no place to stash anyone so often look...looking is free.

Hope that everyone is in the middle of fun today.

i like the strawberry teapot and the bedroom move made me shudder. we can't move our beds, there is only one place in each room to put them.. i have good habits and my mother and daddy had NONE... and my kids have none, so i must have been born with that habit gene.. i do think it is good to try to teach them young to pick up toys and clothes. some will learn and some will not but it is best to try

I don't ever find anything good like you do at Good Will or where ever. Maybe I need to go more often to find the good stuff.
