From Quadville Yesterday to the Ranch Today.....

We started off Wednesday being discombobulated! Louis Dean spent over and hour looking for his truck keys before I opened up the safe and got out his extra set!

By the time we arrived in  Quadville the babies and Amber were all outside playing in the water!

Harrison was running a fever (probably an ear infection) so this was a good way to keep him cool.
Small Mama!!

Trystan and Logan were so cute together!

My prayer is that they will always love each other as much as they do now.

ALL the babies love their Granddad!

I love looking at MY little girl holding one of HER little girls!

THIS little girl did NOT take a nap!
She roamed the playroom all by herself......

at least until Granddad came back from the grocery store.

What can I say? He's just a sucker for a pretty face!

I made a peach cobbler using fresh peaches from my brother's tree for supper.
The main dish was a Taco casserole using good old Hamburger Helper!

My friend from the Texas Fun Girls told me about these cookies.
Three ingredients! A box of cake mix (I used Funfetti) and one egg and an 8 oz. carton of Cool Whip!
Roll the dough in balls and then in powdered sugar! Bake about 12 minutes at 350*.

This morning we had a couple of quick cups of coffee before loading up and heading south to Louis Dean's son's ranch!

I admit to being a city girl and did not know what the fields and fields of these were!

COTTON!!! Thanks to my friend, Shannon, on Facebook for letting me know!
I have only seen them before when the cotton bolls were white and the plants were brown.

So THIS is what they look like before that stage!!

We made it to the ranch and the camper was just as we left it!
No leaks, water damage or surprises!

I made up the bed with freshly laundered sheets and quilts so it will be good sleeping tonight!
The A/C is kicked up on high!
Shade has covered the area we sit out in and the fire ring is filled with wood just waiting to be lit when it gets dark. We brought leftovers from home so we don't even  have to cook tonight.

I am just sitting back with my feet propped up and reading a good book!!

BeeBee keeps us entertained as she prances around the dogs and munches on the brush!
AH! THIS is the LIFE!!!

I close out tonight's post with memory pictures from 20 years ago!

Amber, me, Mother and Summer!

My friend, Beth, and Summer, me and Mother at a Mother's Day Tea.

Amber and Benjamin brought me breakfast in bed!

During Amber's synchro days there was ALWAYS a meet on Mother's Day weekend!

Love your TBT pictures! I keep thinking, "so that's what Kailey will look like in a few years." LOL. Have fun at the ranch. Hope Harrison feels better soon.

You have a way of writing that makes us want to be where you are and do what you do. Your writing is INVITING! I am going to make these cookies! I have never seen cotton plants! I like seeing the old pictures. You were and are beautiful.

Oh good, a new cookie recipe... we are on the same page. Before I read your post, I just posted a easy sugar cookies recipe from a blog friend.
Love your TBT pictures. So sweet.

What a lovely writing, Linda! Exactly do share what Ginny wrote above - simply inviting!!! Wish I could be where ever you are. Also seems like the cool Texas days are overwith and the warmth is back. We do still have very warm here in Finland and without A/C at the cabin it is actually hard for me to sleep. :)

Loved the 'look back in time'...how sweet, wonderful and happy times!! And the quads....OF COURSE they'll love each other, the bond I think will grow stronger with time. You wait and see.

Those cookies....heavenly. [Too hot to bake now, but I'll try this later in the year]

And I can totally feel your love, emotions when you see your own daughter holding one of her own.

Linda, I love seeing all your pictures. Glad you had some fun time with Amber and the children . Enjoy your totally relaxing time on the ranch. That's like a mini vacation, especially when there's no leaks. Blessings to all. xoxo, Susie
