It's All About the Critters....and the People.....and the Food!

It was a wonderful day in the country!!
Sherry arrived in late morning and she had Ruth Ann with her!
How FUN to have her here!!
We had a great time visiting together.
Lunch was a big spread of cold cuts, cheeses, crackers and such.
Afterward, I went to the girl bunk to take a nap and went to sleep listening to the murmur of Ruth Ann and Louis Dean's voices talking about all the memories they share.

This afternoon we all took a tour and visited all the critters!

These two live in the peacock cage. That little one on the right has the BIGGEST crow of all!

Baby chicks!!

Look at that tall one in the middle!

The brooders here are fully occupied!

Baby ducks!

All the critters down here have such big personalities!

One of my favorites.

The meadow was under water just last week.
It was beautiful today.

I just love it here!

This giant oak is right next to the meadow and is majestic!

A mama duck sitting on her eggs.....

New life!

The daddy peacock was standing guard as mama peacock sat on her eggs.

An old biddy bird!

Sherry has a couple of fig trees that she has planted in cages to protect them from the critters.

I'm going to show this picture of the barn swallows nest to Trystan.
She loves all things about birds!

Looking out towards the back of the property which stretches beyond those far trees.

And then there's the horses!

I brought apples this trip for them.

Beautiful creatures!

This one has blue eyes.

Amazing how the ground has dried out after all that heavy rain!

I gathered some fresh eggs for tomorrow morning's breakfast!

We had hamburgers, roasted potatoes with rosemary, cantaloupe, and fluffy salad for dinner tonight!

Louis Dean accomplished everything he set out to do today.
The awning is done. The windows are unloaded and stowed away until next trip when construction will begin.

Rufus is such a good dog!
He was rewarded with dinner scraps.

The sun set on this, a country day!

Ruth Ann, Louis Dean and I are watching Downton Abbey as our evening entertainment!
I have one more complete day here and part of Sunday!
I am one.......

I'm like Trystan, I like birds of just about any kind. I like those colorful chickens, as well as the ducks, and peacock. I believe Sherry can forget about that cage for or fig bush. I do love figs, especially fig preserves. I used to make a cake that called for fig preserves. It looks like you're having wonderful weather. You better enjoy it while you can because it will soon be too hot to enjoy.

I lovebirds...I have raised many from babies such as parrots and cockatiels. Great experience for my kiddos.

Mmmmm..not sure yet about figs. I need to experiment! :)

Linda, I love seeing all the chickens and especially the peacocks. I saw my daughter big old rooster at her door on Thursday. I love the horses too. I am glad that Ruth Ann can be there for some country relaxing too. Sherry and Dean have gentle hearts. You know some times it is who we are eating with than it is about the food....making many thrown together meals the best. Blessings to all, xoxo, love, Susie
