Goodbye, Camper! Hello, HOUSE!

It was time to say goodbye to the camper and head back home.

We spent our last morning outside on the deck with our coffee and bread.
Since the camper faces east, the sun is too bright so we simply turned our chairs around and admired the deck!

We didn't have nearly as much to pack up so it didn't take very long to load it all in the truck.

We brought the kitty carrier in and set it in the middle of the floor so we would NOT forget the cat!
Louis Dean decided to rest after all the loading while I did a walk through to make sure we weren't forgetting anything important.

I left the camper all clean and tidy!
The pantry is still stocked so we will only have to bring refrigerated items back next time.

I fished Miss Maddie out from under the table.
Last night Lucy surprised us by coming back up to the camper after Dean and Sherry left to go down to their place. She seemed to know we would be going home soon. She slept by the couch because Maddie has since claimed Lucy's dog bed as her very own. Twice Lucy went under the table and twice she came right back out!

I turned off the last lights, flipped the water heater switch and turned off the pump.

Now you can see the finished deck all cleaned up!

Louis Dean locked her up.

Louis Dean loves Laura Ingalls Wilder's books.
When we left today, he quoted, "The shutters were over the windows, so the little house could not see them go."
He has a quote for every occasion!

I remember how excited we were when we arrived at the gate just one week ago!
While I am never quite ready to leave, it was time to come home.

We did not miss TV while we were gone but Louis Dean was happy to get home in time to watch 'Closing Bell!'

We unloaded, unpacked, started the laundry and dishwasher, took showers and naps!
I think it is very safe to say that we came home renewed and refreshed!

Now that we are back in town, Louis Dean needed a hair cut!!!
He always gives me that little boy sad smile and says, "Mama sent me!"

I cut him down to size!

Tonight we continued with our rest and recovery by watching a really good movie!
The Replacements with Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman - both favorite actors of mine.
I do love a GOOD movie!!!

I think we are all glad to be home but I think Maddie is the happiest!! She's been in and out several times and has wandered through the entire house! She's happy and Lucy is tired! Lucy even put herself in the kennel tonight! Guess she thought it was time to go to bed!
And it's about that time for me, too!

Hi. I just finished commenting our your trip at the ranch....and now you're home. Home sweet Home. Nice hair cut....anything you can't do..HaHa.
We are only a few weeks away from our trip to Lake Tahoe for a week in a friends cabin on the lake. It reminds me of how we feel going to Tahoe is like how you feel going to the ranch. We sit, we read, we walk, we enjoy the beauty of the lake from the bay window. I have a blog friend and her husband that live close enough to come and spend a day. Life is good, and like you and your man...I intend to enjoy every day the Lord give us.
Did your get your bread from Trader Joes....I love it with coffee. Hugs for now....sweet dreams.

Sounds as if it was a wonderful time at your beloved ranch. I know y'all were glad to get home however. Weather should be great on your next trip down there! So happy to hear you had safe travels!

Well sure glad you enjoyed your trip to the ranch! We are hoping to do something very similar at my daughter and son in laws place soon. Put a small mobile home on their property somewhere so we can come down and stay for 2 or 3 weeks sometimes without having to be IN their house. Retirement for hubby can't come soon enough I tell you....I started cutting my hubby's hair about a year ago. Not nearly as hard as I thought and I thoroughly enjoy it. I think I always was a want to be hair dresser, lol. I know how you feel though....it's ALWAYS soo nice to get away, but at the end of the day be it ever so humble, there's no place like home. Oh, and tell Louis Dean, Little House on the prairie is one of my favorites too. Have a good week-end!

Linda, I have to say that your LD is so darn lovable...his quotes, that little boy look..LOL, love his mama sent him. Your deck is so nice....you can keep your feet dry when it's muddy at the camper. Your pets are funny. I love that Lucy put herself to bed. :):) After all you and LD went through with the camper as your home, under repairs lots of times, while you tended to Amber and the babies....you are finally enjoying the camper as a resting vacation home. I keep telling Teddy , we need to sell out, buy a camper and a long extention cord...go plug in at all our kids houses and move every three weeks or so. LOL. Blessings to you and LD for a nice restful weekend. Love you, Susie

I am hoping our little house in the sorta big woods will be as comfy as your camper Linda. We plan to have no cable or Wifi which will be a challenge but I think it is good to connect with nature to recharge our batteries for the hectic lives we all live at home.

Glad you made home safe and sound. As much as you hate to the leave ranch, you're happy to be home, your bathroom, your bed, LD's chair & TV. Even the animals to happy to be home.

I love that quote! As good as it is to get away it is just as good to return home. It must be nice to just have to lock 'er up and she's ready for the next time you come down. In our part of the country people have to do a lot of winter prep so they can close up cottages for the season.

How good to be home after a time of refreshing. That deck looks so fine. It must make life just that much better down on the ranch.
