All is well!

Yesterday was a good day, albeit a very LONG one!
We all met at the new home for Mother and walked in as a family.
Mother was excited and happy to be there.
Once all the paperwork was done, we once again walked as a family escorting Mother to her room.

God had prepared the way before us and Deanie was the one he used to do this.
Deanie's health has long been a concern and, despite being sick herself, she did a remarkable job in securing a place for Mother.

This is Lillian, Mother's roommate!
She is a sweet SWEET lady and we have adopted her into our family as hers are not local so she has few visitors, if any. That will change. We will all visit Mother often but not daily.

This was much easier for all of us than we thought it would be.

She has a whole new audience and people trained to care for her.
Yesterday she was the center of so much attention and she lapped it up!
She's going to love it here!

While Mother ended her first day all smiling and rested and pampered -
we all went home tired to the bone.
I was so tired when I got home last night around 8:00, I took a hot shower and went straight to bed.

Mother is a Happy Camper and that's exactly where we are going today!
To the camper!!
We are packing and loading now but I did want to stop and take a few minutes to update and thank everyone who has been praying and encouraging and cheering us on.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!
What could have been traumatic experience was instead a beautiful demonstration of the love, grace, and power of God.

Since I'm not in FB, I will be commenting here from now on. I am SO happy for you and your Mom and your siblings. How wonderful God is in his provision.

This is enormously exciting news. I'm not sure who I'm happiest for, but it may be Lillian. Wow, I can't think of anything better than having your family drop in her lap. Wonderful. So glad you're heading out of town today. As you leave town exhale all that stress and breath in relaxing country air.

Linda, this is an answer to much prayer and I am so happy to hear how it all went. Your mother looks absolutely delighted to be there. And what a blessing for Lillian, because you all will love her along with your own mother.

Thanks so much for updating and letting us all know. I'm not surprised you were in bed by 8 pm!

This is such a good thing for all of you. Your mom looks happy, the roommate sweet and the place beautiful. You can all be assured she is in a safe place and now get on with getting the four of you healthy! Enjoy your time at the camper. I know the country will be a good and revitalizing time for you.

Oh LINDA! I am so happy for you. I know how much you have been dreading this. I see God's handiwork all over this!! He has been right in the midst of you, and even took care of the details like the roommate. And you are doing God's work by adopting her. So He took care of two things at ONCE!!! Now, you go to the country, be carefree, and get that room done! I am so excited to see it!!

Linda, You have all been in my thoughts and prayers. I pray your mother will adjust and learn to love her new surroundings. I think she's at the age she wants to rest somewhat. She'll get her hair done there and there's always someone willing to paint their nails. It will be nice the room mate will enjoy all of you also. Be safe on your travels to and from the camper. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

Now! Just breathe! In comfort of knowing she is in a good place. In knowing your family has done an exemplary of caring for her for years. In feeling freedom to live your lives with more freedom, not in worry about your mother's care!
I looked until late last night to see if you'd posted, so I'm glad I checked back this evening. You and Louis be careful and have a wonderful time at the ranch, living 'country-style' for awhile!

Linda, I've been reading lately and not commenting. I'm so happy it all went well with your mom. You have such a sweet heart and I know there are parts of this that have been challenging.

We've just gone through this with my father in law. I just wanted to tell you that your mom may want to come home so don't be too surprised if you hear that. It just takes time to adjust. We were advised not to take my FIL out much for the first few weeks. I think that was good advice.

This is a real turning point in the life of your Mom. Having been through this a few times...learn to expect the unexpected...it's often times not smooth sailing...
