An October Day.....

The cold front came in last night and we woke to a chilly house!! Granted - I DID have the attic fan on to make SURE the cold air would greet us when we woke up. We sleep best in cold fresh air!
While Louis Dean got the coffee going I searched for a flannel gown and a robe!
My closet is SMALL and I have a LOT of clothes! My fall and winter things were stored in the top so I pulled EVERYTHING out in order to get to them! Alas, the gowns were on shelves at the back!

No matter! I needed to change out for the seasons anyway - which is how I spent this lovely October afternoon.

But FIRST we had a cozy comfy morning in the den. Louis Dean is loving his Lazy Boy easy chair.
He covered it with a blanket because he doesn't want to get it dirty! I take the cover off when he's not using it! Those warm cuddly blankets he brought with him when we married are wonderful. We wrap them around us when we sit in the gazebo.....or on the drive way.....or in the den. We had one on the bed last night since I haven't found the electric blanket. I put it somewhere I would remember! I just forget WHERE!!

The afternoon was beautiful and we each took turns taking a nap!
Then Louis Dean decided this limb was about to fall and damage our roof.
So being the handy dandy guy he is - and you KNOW how he loves LADDERS! -
he climbed up there and twisted it off. He cut it up into kindling. Waste not - want not!
Once he was trimming a branch off that same pecan tree - only towards the front - in order to hang a hoist.
A nosey neighbor passerby stopped - looked up at Louis Dean - and asked, "Why are you cutting your pecan tree?" Louis Dean sarcasticallyy  said, "We need the FIREWOOD!"

He got it DONE!
LD is still regaining his strength from a bout with the flu so he felt GOOD to get out and DO something!
He accomplishes a lot more than he thinks he does!

For dinner I threw a couple of these beauties on the grill! They come already loaded with goodies!

Roasted veggies to bake in the oven will round out an easy autumn meal.

We found this fresh pumpkin dessert sitting on the front porch bench!
I love having Stephanie as my neighbor! All sorts of good things just magically appear!

Now that this perfectly lovely day is done we can sit back and bask in our accomplishments!
AND - a new episode of NCIS is ready for viewing on our DVR!

I think I will turn the attic fan back on so we can cover up with our cozy blankets while we watch it!

I'm hearing from my TX friends, that Autumn walks the land. Nice! After all that heat, heat, heat. :-)

Sounds like another lovely day, at your place. (Although LD on a roof, always looks scary to me. Brrrr...) :-)

New NCIS... Did you read ahead of time, that the team was going to look for a perfect date for Gibbs? We did and I got worried about that.

Silly me. They are just tv show characters. But! I am possessive about Gibbs. I am! And I don't mind saying so. -grin- Don't want him getting all tied up with some female.

Like one of them said... He had his perfect wife. Can't meet or top that, again.

The only one whom I don't automatically want to scratch her eyes out, is the lawyer with black hair and pale blue eyes. Somehow, I'd be able to handle it, if they got together...

Wellllllllll...

For a while anyway..... -giggles-

(Aren't I silly? -giggles-)

Gentle hugs,
