Dressing Our New Gazebo for Christmas!

While we meant to go down to the ranch for a few days, rain had come in down there and the ducks were swimming in Dean and Sherry's front yard! Combine that with the fact that I continue to choke, hack and cough - we opted to stay home and I don't intend to leave the house until I am well.

I spent all morning watching Hallmark Christmas movies!
By 2;30 I felt like doing a little something so I opened up the Christmas house where I store all my decorations. It was scary! A bit overwhelming to see it all crammed so full! I have to take everything out just to find what I'm looking for. This year I will NOT be using every single thing in there - as I have done in every single Christmas Past. Times are changing and so are my energy levels.

A daunting task!

Made easier by my saint of a husband!

He melts my heart doing things like this!
The gazebo was our 'room' of choice today.
I am decorating one room a day......this will take awhile.

I usually do a Snowman theme in the gazebo but since this is the first year for our NEW one -
I thought to go with red and a bit rustic.

Every corner is cozy and just waiting for a friend to come sit a spell with us.

There are two rockers plus mine and Louis Dean's chairs but there's room to bring in more seats from the kitchen deck.

Louis Dean loves colored lights and especially the LED ones.
That's what we used here.

I love how cozy it feels......

That middle Santa needs to have his beard tamed so we can see his face,
I will do that very thing - tomorrow!

A manger scene I found in an old trunk I've had for a few years.
It was wrapped in paper dated 1985.

The only Snowman in the gazebo!

We LOVE the way it turned out!!!
I told Louis Dean as we were decorating, "I feel like we could be in a Hallmark Christmas movie!"

This is where we ate our dinner tonight. We weren't ready to go in.
You can tell we are in Texas. Where else do you have citronella candles lit to ward off the mosquitoes while you decorate for Christmas??

It turned out even prettier than we imagined it would!

While I am not going to be hosting a big ladies tea as I have done for the past several years,
I will be hosting smaller teas and gatherings.
This is a year for changes.

And now for a nice glass of wine!!
Tomorrow we will tackle the dining room!

I have just this minute come from looking on Facebook. This room is even prettier than ones in Christmas movies. It is like a winter fairyland! The Quads will be stunned and delighted. There is just so much to see and enjoy. And all of it beautiful. We cannot even put up our beautiful Christmas tree. This is because our cats eat the needles and bat the ornaments. Even fake needles. I have a nice nativity set I found at a thrift store, but it does not have a manger. Yours is really nice!

This is just gorgeous! I wish I could join you there for a cup of tea and conversation. I can't even begin to decorate until I get this place cleaned up! I pulled things out to go through them and now it is messier than when I began. I have been watching Hallmark Christmas movies too. I love them. I think I've seen just about all of them by now. Can't wait to see the rest of your house decorated.

Hi there Linda, hope you are feeling some better today? Love that gazebo and wow!--love the pretty decorations ESPECIALLY THE CEILING! Love how you did that. Yes, we are still fighting the dang "skeeters" here too, and they are so annoying, LOL It's been in the 80s here and we enjoy it as we don't like the cold. Well, enjoy your pretty gazebo and looking forward to seeing the rest of your decorations coming up!

Beautiful! You and Louis Dean are a great team! We are traveling home from visiting Tim's mom in Florida. Friday night we set up her tree and hung other lights around the house. I can't wait to get home and get my decorating finished!

Oh- You guys are just a whirlwind together! I love that you have a helper that can do stuff with you. I have a 'helper' and he helps best by giving me advice on how I should do things! LOL Lucky for me I am able to do a lot of stuff by myself and ignore 'suggestions'. lol

Your gazebo is SO MUCH FUN!!!! Love the citronella candles to ward off mosquitoes. Fla and Texas!!! xo Diana

I'd love to come sit a spell...a liitle gingerale and sparkling conversation should go a long way to recharge my flagging batteries. You still have more energy than anyone I know. Glad that you are pacing yourself!

Linda, LD is a trooper. I love how cozy the gazebo looks. All the wonderful decorations. I truly understand about not getting everything out all the time. I change things up here. Some times I just don't have the energy to do it all....cause it's all me here. Ted carries the tree in from the garage and do all the decorating...it's exhausting. I have the porch started and the tree is in the house. LOL. I am glad you are still planning on the tea with the girls just not all at once. Blessings to all there, love you guys, xoxo, Susie

Looks really festive and cozy! I think you two make a great team! I don't do anything near as much as I used to. My back just prohibits a lot.

Enjoy every minute you're out there!

The gazebo looked like a room in the house. It was really pretty. Y'all do awesome work. Trying to read some more to catch up. Your post still don't show in my bloglovin updates. I removed you then added you back thinking that would help but nope. Oh well
