Magnolia Market, HEB, Thrift Store and all things wonderful!!!

Sherry and I had a wonderful day together in Waco yesterday!

Our first and primary destination was Magnolia Market......

Located at Magnolia Silos.

This week was the soft opening of the store and it is still a work in progress.

Chip and Joanna Haines have great plans in store for this area!

The shop was as unique and interesting as we had thought it would be!

Beautiful displays!

Inspiration everywhere!!

I really wanted to buy a branch of these! $9

Awesomely HUGE displays!!!

I have a mantle similar to this one. Mine has a mirror in it but if it didn't I would seriously consider this idea.

I saw this image on their website but couldn't tell exactly what it was.
These are tiny vintage books - or at least vintage looking - and I didn't get the entire saying in the pic.
'But I think I like fall most of all.'

From there Sherry and I found a cool little thrift store with a 50% off sale going on!

We each found a few treasures!

Meet my new buddy! I have a hat at home that will suit him perfectly!
Unfortunately, I left a trail of straw behind me as I left the store!

The photo doesn't do my purchases justice!
It's a Chico shell and a cool top - very light weight which will look great with a pair of jeans!

I'm sure I'll wear this red top a lot!!

Lunch followed and it was delicious!
Fuego Tortilla Grill!

We never miss an opportunity to shop HEB!
If we had one at home, my grocery budget would be seriously stressed and I would be considerably heavier!

Of COURSE you would see a John Deer tractor in the middle of the grocery store!

I have loved every day we have spent here in the country!

Back at the camper, I pulled out my paint tub and worked some more on the Santas.
Now I know what I've done wrong.....I need to darken up those beards!
Too much WHITE and I have often warned my students that you MUST have darks for the lights to show properly!! I will fix that today!!

Sherry had a wonderful waiting for her!!!
This girl loves tractors and all kinds of heavy machinery much as another might love pearls and diamonds! Dean knows the real key to her heart!!!

Sherry actually owns a t-shirt like this!!!

Last night we sat out under the Texas sky bright with stars and a perfect crescent moon to eat this amazing meal! Then we sat for a few minutes on the deck sipping our wine and chatting before we all headed to bed......at 9:30!

Life is good! Life was SO good yesterday that we want to stay one more!!!

Thank you for posting all the pictures of Magnolia. I loved seeing it! Too bad you didn't get to meet the Gaineses in person.

You had such a great day! So many good things going home with you. With days like that no wonder you want to stay just one more.

Yes, you and Sherry are going to have to win the lottery after all the shopping. It is a lot of fun to have a shopping partner, and a little dangerous, too. Your meals look so yummy. The grill must be working great!

What fun you are having Linda....You will miss being there . It's seems a slower life and boy we all need some days like that, don't we. I wish I could have gone shopping with you girls. Linda, I want to say looking at that picture of you standing with your shoulders back and the dark glasses...you reminded me of my mom...she was a good looking and strong woman like you. There's a lot to be said for strong women, don't you think? Blessings to all of you there on the ranch, love you, Susie

Well I am jealous...would like to visit Chip and Joanna's place! Love their HGTV show. I always take pictures of anything I paint as it helps me to see what needs adjusting. I do this with crafts too...sometimes it inspires me. I am in a cross stitch mood. I finished two pieces and I am working on one for our little house right now....it features Bees and as my granddaddy and my daddy were bee men, I want to frame it and hang it as a tribute to them.

What a treat to see Magnolia! HEB looks like a store we have back here called Wegmans. Its fun to go there.

Your paintings are so good - what a gift you have.

Glad you are both doing so well and having fun with Dean and Sherry!

Great times and relaxation ~ what more could you ask for? :) I think this time for you and LD to kick back and relax was sorely needed and I'm glad you've enjoyed it so much! A slower life is a nice break for everyone.

Linda, what a fun trip! I need a girl's day trip. Want to come to Nashville. We have lots of shops that I have yet to see! The big Flea Market is this month. I can't wait.

What a fun time. The outfits you bought are great and I'll bet your new buddy really would look cute in a hat.

You know, I didn't even notice that tractor in the picture at first until you mentioned it. I'm not sure how I missed it the first time... :)

Oh my! I am sooooooooooo jealous of your shopping and eating! I wanna come too! I love Chip and Joanna Haines....it took me quite a while to figure out that the Magnolia store would be connected to them. I am also in love with your santas. I have collected santas and now have some thrift store pictures that I put up at Christmas, but I want yours too! :-)

That does sound like an amazing day! Our thrift stores never have half off days here, you think they would though as they receive tons of donations to refill with. Shoes were half off (only one item at a time type discount) yesterday but I didn't see any in my size I liked unfortunately.

I'm SO jealous that you got to go to the Magnolia store! I would love to go there. Maybe I can talk my husband into taking a trip to TX some time and I can go there. Looks like I would have to shop online if I want to buy anything from them. Loved your pictures! Looks like a nice store. Your grilled kabobs look good back at the ranch too. I think you had a good time shopping and eating. My favorite kind of day!

O, what a wonderful day it musst have been. Such a beautiful October this year...so many nice days for getting out with a friend.
The cotton field across from us had their field stripped yesterday so today I went out and "picked cotton" from the bolls that were left...adding some to a wreath I am TRYING to make...(I am sooo not good at this kind of thing)...
How I would LUV to buy one of those Santa paintings from you....do you ever sell your work...or have I asked you before ??
xoxo

That little market looks so cool. I could've probably killed a few hours in there. You got some great thrift store finds. I love that red top! It will be perfect for the upcoming holidays! Those kabobs made my mouth water. Sounds like an incredibly blessed day my friend!
