The Lap of LUXURY!

I have been sitting in the lap of luxury since I arrived down here in the Houston area to spend some time with my youngest daughter.

We have watched movies, had some delicious home cooked meals, had lunch at Chili's (LOVE their chips and salsa!!), enjoyed a Starbucks treat, shopped and just had a ball in general!!!

Amber is a professional writer so while SHE was doing a bit of THAT I have read and napped and played with the kitties!

Last night I had a luxurious soak in the tub - complete with 'Sleep' bath bubbles and lotion! I love her rack where I propped my book and just settled down for a most relaxing half hour!
Talk about getting a good night's sleep - I DID!!

It is like time is suspended while I am here. No schedule. No responsibilities. No pressure to 'GET THINGS DONE.' I need to learn how to relax like this at home! For whatever reason I am compelled to DO instead of simply BE. I am now working on that.

Although while here I have still accomplished a few things. I listed several books on eBay to sell. I sewed a quilt top for the Quilting Ministry at Fellowship Church. I have sewed on a Christmas needlework project which I hope to finish in the next few days. I started it TWO years ago!!

Amber has Christmas music playing as I write! By the end of December I may be tired of hearing the carols but for now they are simply lovely! I am about to take her fall decorations down and store them away in preparation for the Christmas boxes to come out tonight. We will have another one of her gourmet dinners - she cooks nearly every night - and a movie while we transform the house into a celebration of the Christmas Season! She and her husband are going to Italy for Thanksgiving so it will be nice to come home early in December and have the house DONE! They will go right into the holiday season hosting a big party that very week!

Amber constantly amazes me!! She has so much on her plate - running her busy writing business: Amber Bell Creative Freelance from home and still taking care of that home plus their three dogs and a custom made jewelry business: Texas Take!
She is one busy lady!!

We still have many activities and things to see and do before the week is over!
I am so deeply grateful that BOTH of my daughters seem to genuinely LIKE me.
They have a lot of my better qualities and very few of my bad ones!
Amber and I absolutely seem to enjoy doing the exact same things!
I am content with my life. God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams.

Your are most fortunate. What a blessing it is to let go of responsibilities for a few days. I did that twice (both times with sister or sister in law) and I felt like I was in shock for the first day, then I got right in to doing only nice stuff and relaxing and relaxing and reading and...

Some day I hope to do that again.

Oh how I love that quote- it is so very true. My daugher is absolutely precious to me.

I'm so glad you are enjoying your time with your daughter. It sounds as though she has taken really good care of you! It's great to just be sometimes isn't it? I'm like you, I do instead of just be.

Enjoy the rest of your visit & try to get at least one more relaxing bath in!

Oh btw- I love chips & salsa from chilli's too!!!

Oh I hope you can take some of this lovely "I-Can-Just-Be-And-Not-Constantly-Have-To-Be-Doing" feeling, home with you.

Sweet of you to decorate her home for her, with their delightful trip coming up.

Yes my Dear, you are a very, very lucky lady, with your wonderful daughters. But then, you produced them, so you get a lot of the credit, for how sweetly and wonderfully they turned out. :-)

Gentle hugs,

It brings a smile to my face to hear how happy and rested you are on this getaway. I'm actually jealous. I love going out to eat and shopping and hot baths and movies. I wanna come over! Ha! Sounds wonderful and it's even better knowing that you're spending time with your daughter.
