Monday Work and Art on Tuesday......

Monday was a Home Day and Louis Dean and I both worked long and hard and got way too tired!

He mixed his concrete for the deck......just one board width but it took a good bit of time to build the form, mix and pour the concrete and then clean up.

Our backyard is a mix of all sorts of things right now.
Long lengths of black plastic drains and stacks of wood from the elm tree.....
We are hoping to get the gazebo back up this week!
I sure miss it......
I got out there after the sun went down a bit and cut away at the jungle along the side deck.
We get overwhelmed bu all we need to do and have to remind ourselves to just keep plugging away a little at a time. It will all get done eventually. Hopefully this year!!!

Since we both worked so hard yesterday - we took it much easier today!
Louis Dean spent a good part of the day working on his music and I did some art.

Glazed and added the rest of the fence on the small cow painted on a 12" square canvas.
This one will live at the ranch.

So will this bumblebee.....I think.
I really like looking at it!

I stained the fence pieces for the big cow painting......

All in all a good day's work.

I had an art partner today!
This is my friend, Debbie.

We have been painting together for over 35 years!

Her husband took these pictures for us and we had a lot of fun posing.
I didn't realize I was wearing two pair of glasses - even after Debbie mentioned it to me!
I thought the other pair was on my head!

We laughed and laughed!!
Her husband waited hoping to get a good photo of us.

I loved spending time with my dear friend.
She was Summer and Jesse's English teacher back in the day and we went to church together for many years. We continued our visit when Anthony picked her up. It's a blessing to have such good long time friends.

Louis Dean joined me at the art table while I finished up my projects over cheese, crackers and wine.

It had been a long time since I have painted at home.
Normally I do art at the ranch.

I made a blond dinner tonight!!!
Cabbage, scalloped potatoes, squash casserole and baked flounder.
OOPS!!
It was good, though.
We have been binge watching The Closer.
All 7 seasons are on our DVR and we are in season 2.
I guess that's been our favorite TV show.
We have seen each episode more than once and yet we never remember exactly how it ends.

The art table is cleaned off and I'm ready for Wednesday.
I'm truly loving this time at home even though I'm missing the ranch.
What a blessing to have two special 'Happy Places!'
We will be back down there towards the end of the month.
I am determined not to miss any more bee meetings.
Still reading the Bee book Sherry loaned me.
Things are beginning to make more sense to me now.......

I don’t know where you find the cute quote graphics, but they always apply. Wonder if you can find one for a lady wearing a double set of glasses. 👓👓 That was too cute!

Time with friends, time painting, time to be home, it’s all good. Happy Independence Day!

Hi Linda, I have not had a computer for about a month..power glitch. New hard drive and they have wiped out my blog list, pictures and favorites. Even though I begged them to not mess up my ability to load photos , I see no place for them. I loved seeing your art work. So many cute things. Don't over do in the yard. I had a two day weekend of yard work and it was exhausting. Too hot for one thing. Blessings to you and LD, love you, xoxo, Susie

You all are busy as bees there for sure! I love the bee quote too and enjoyed seeing your artwork. I used to have a friend to paint with but she no longer paints. I still try and give most of mine away as gifts these days. You are blessed to have two happy places in your life, home and the ranch do keep you busy for sure!

such talent just oozes from you.
That is wonderful to spend such precious time with your friend..35 years of painting together...awesome.
LD is such a hard worker and your yard, deck and gazebo are going to be works of art themselves...
Just don't over do it please!

those cow paintings are AMAZING! I love all of them. you are soooo talented. the thing about hard work is as you complete one project others are coming out to be done. it is never done owning a home. I don't know how you are both working in all this incredible heat

A couple in our small group from church got bees and since then they’ve had three bee swarms on their property, none of them from their bees! Bees seem to be drawn to them!

Glad your enjoying your time at home!
