All is Well!

It's been a wild few day! While we were in Houston last week someone came in the house and left with Louis Dean's two favorite guitars! His big Martin AND his Fender!
Poor LD has been beside himself! We didn't miss them until Sunday when he decided to play a little music.

On Friday I had missed a silver jewelry box.....but had pretty much talked myself into thinking I had moved it! Even though it sat on its very own shelf that was JUST its size - thereby leaving said shelf VACANT! And if you know me at ALL - you know I never leave ANY available space VACANT!! I would have put something there! So when he discovered first one guitar missing and then another - well, he was fit to be tied!!

It took a full day to process this. The feeling of being violated and knowing your home has been invaded was a little much. We were - and ARE - concerned about Amber being in the hospital and the quads needing a few more weeks in the 'oven', the camper getting repaired and some semblance of normal life happening!  It's been a RIDE!

So yesterday afternoon Louis Dean was off to Home Depot to purchase enough material to protect Fort Knox!! At one point he called to tell me he was buying chain link fencing and barbed wire! NOT! After I freaked out on the phone he backed off of THAT one! Still - you should SEE the locks and bolts he bought! It will make a NYC gal proud!

Summer treated me to dinner out last night at La Madeleine.......
and I left LD home admiring all his purchases and contemplating his 'construction' plans! This was JUST what I needed! Some salad, a little fruit, a nice glass of Chardonnay, one on one time with my first born. We even sat beside the gas lit fireplace and I loved every minute. We closed the place down. Of course, that meant 9:00! I feel like I have neglected my other three children to one degree or another lately....not to mention the four grandchildren I already have.......and did I mention my long suffering patient HUSBAND? It is a difficult thing to be many places, in many relationships, filling many needs - all at the same time. We can only do what we can and as I told Amber last week......"You are only pregnant with quadruplets ONCE!! If you do this again, you're on your own!" She agreed! ONE set of quads per family should do it!

That being said, I was up by 4 and on the road by 5:45 this morning heading south to Houston. I am NOT known for speedy arrivals - preferring to linger over coffee or stop for a few minutes and play my Facebook games - and I am always game for pulling off at any and all historical markers. HOWEVER! Today I drove straight through stopping only for quick 'necessary' breaks. I arrived at the edge of Houston in 3 hours - only to sit in traffic for over TWO HOURS!! Then I got lost in downtown lunch traffic!  A call to Mike put me on the right road going the RIGHT direction in no time!

As soon as I arrived on Amber's floor and turned the corner I spotted her room!!
She was moved to a larger one yesterday previously occupied for 2 months by a mom expecting twins. Let's hope Amber has just as long an occupancy!

I came bearing gifts from Amber's big sister who sees to it she has plenty of reading material and cute little 'pick me up' items! Her friend, Lisa, (herself expecting her first child the end of next month) made the motivational sign which is a constant source of encouragement when viewed from the hospital bed.

Amber's bed is sporting jersey sheets which makes it so much more comfortable when you are in bed 24/7.

I love this cute little bunny! Notice it is PINK and PURPLE???
Amber's least favorite colors and yet she keeps this gift from Mike right beside her all.the.time. She literally sleeps with it.

We passed the afternoon watching one of her favorite movies.....
and one I had never seen before! It's a really GOOD one, by the way!

I have my own personal spot set up complete with my lap top, phone and iced tea.

I am happy to report contractions have been held to a minimum, Amber has eaten well and stayed horizontal for MOST of the day. She is 50 minutes from being 24 hours on the Mag IV and doing much better this time around. She does 48 hours of Mag IV once a week and then a round of Indocin. So far this seems to be the recipe for more time in the womb for these four babies. Time of gestation is the.most.important.factor. More so than weight.

In a few hours I am heading to their house to feed the critters and get a good night's sleep. I have checked in with LD so I have an easy mind. Mike will arrive soon to spend the evening with Amber.

For the time being.........
All is well!!!

Praying it stays this way!

Such a lot going on in your life right now, Linda - you are juggling every hour of the day! I know you'll have the strength to do what needs to be done - and the sense of humour to be able to say 'you only have quads once'. Thinking of you!

WOW!! The nerve of some people. Glad LD has locks up to keep you all & your thing safe. Sorry to hear about your missing items.

Glad you had a safe trip back up to Amber. I promise, I dont know how she's doing it and she seems to be doing it quite well. She's one tough cookie for sure!

It's so hard to tend to eveyone's needs. Your doing good Linda, you just hang in there!

What an insult to have a robber in your home. I hope that his or her miserable little fanny gets caught red-handed. I hope that you don't find any more things missing. Your hubby is right to take all necessary measures.

So glad that Amber is doing good and I am delighted that she has been moved to a more comfortable room. It's important to not feel imprisoned as much as is possible. A pretty view, even if created, would seem important and those wonderful comfy sheets.

Take care, still praying for more time!

I do not like sharing all plans, in blogs.

Our blogs are on the World Wide Net.

Not everyone who reads our blogs, is a nice person.

The person who broke into your home and stole items, is not a nice person.

Did this person know when both you and LD were not in residence, from seeing it on your blog?

-sigh-

Linda,
I almost cried when I read about LD's guitars. I worry when I leave our house every day. There are so many burglaries going on now. The thieves don't even care about alarms anymore. They smash and grab.

I am so pleased to hear that Amber and the babes are doing well. You are all in my thoughts and prayers each day.

OH NO! You've got to be kidding someone broke into the house. Obviously you didn't notice broken windows or locks. I'm so sorry. Now I had to laugh when I read Amber was on her own if she had quads a 2nd time. Glad you're back to keep Miss Amber in line and company during the day. hugs
